Who To Follow At The Curragh On Sunday - 08/08/21

Horse To Follow - Go Bears Go

The feature race of the afternoon at The Curragh is the Group One Phoenix Stakes for two year olds over six furlongs and the British raider Go Bears Go will take some beating.

The son of Kodi Bear has been a superstar for the David Loughnane yard this term, racing three times and going on to land two of them, whilst placing in another valuable race.

He made an emphatic debut over 5f at Ascot on soft ground getting off the mark at the first time of asking, with the horses in behind him since winning races.

Loughnane then sent him back over the same course and distance at Royal Ascot in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes and although running a cracker he finished a head third to the smart Perfect Power.

Kept at Group Two level Go bears Go was last seen winning the Railway Stakes over course and distance at The Curragh and with the plan being this race for a while we can't see past him.

Extremely progressive.

Trainer To Follow - Edward Lynam

The trainer to keep a close eye on this weekend at The Curragh is the very shrewd Edward Lynam who has some big chances to get in the winners enclsoure.

His best chance of the day comes in the Group Three Phoenix Sprint Stakes where he fields the consistent Romantic Proposal, who loves it at this track on any ground.

Other nice types for Lynam on the day is the Jon Riggens in the 5f maiden, who makes his debut for the yard and Jack Rose who goes in the first.

Jockey To Follow - Colin Keane

Superstar Irish jockey Colin Keane could be set for a huge day at The Curragh on Sunday with a great book of rides behind him.

In the first race of the day he sits on the son of Fastnet Rock Music Magic who looks a very nice type on debut and then backing that up he gets his leg up on Caire Go Deo, who looks a very progressive type having run a cracker on debut.

Other nice rides for Keane on the day look to be Rosa Woodsii in the Fillies' Maiden, Power Under Me in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes and Dr Zempf in the feature Group One Phoenix Stakes.

The rider has been running well of late currently posing a 17% strike rate having managed nine winners from his last 54 rides over the last two weeks.
