ITV Racing Tips for Today - Friday 5th June

It's the first day of the Derby Meeting at Epsom with six live races on ITV. With the feature of the day being the Oaks. Amelia Earhart looks to emulate Minnie Hauk and do the Cheshire Oaks and Epsom Oaks double. With the Diomed Stakes, the Woodcote Stakes and some competitive handicaps in support, we've gone through all the live races for our tips and selections for the afternoon.

Naanas Shadow 6/1

Adopted front running tactics at Catterick over this trip to win in good style and wasn’t disgraced under forward tactics again at York to be 3rd last time out. This outright speed test will suit her and only 1lbs higher in the weights leaves her still looking well handicapped. Oisin Murphy an eye-catching jockey booking.

Hickory Lad 9/2

Got off the mark at short odds at Musselburgh over 5 furlongs and went well in the Lily Agnes stakes at Chester to be a fast finishing 2nd. Shaped like this tea up to 6 furlongs would suit and brings some of the best form and experience to the table.

Persica 5/2

Haș a perfect 2-2 record at this venue and took this race last year in a good display under a penalty. Carries less weight this year and his comeback effort at Newmarket in April will have left him fully tuned up to go back to back in this race.

Has really found his niche over 10 furlongs and bolted up at Chelmsford on the all weather before another impressive win on turf at Chester last month. Hiked up 9lbs in the weights for that win, he still doesn’t look badly treated off a mark of 105 and this race tends to go to a classier type near the top of the weights. Still progressing and can put in another bold bid under Oisin Murphy.

Cameo 15/2

Handles any kind of going conditions and took a big step forward when last seen in the Lingfield Oaks trial to win with a good deal in hand. Relished the extra stamina test that day and is still unexposed over middle distances. Represents the Aidan O’Brien stable and can progress again here.

Mirsky 14/1

Won this race last year and has been in fine form again this season, posting a near career best when winning the Thirsk Hunt Cup off a 3lbs lower mark. Versatile for going conditions and handles Epsom well. Can bounce back from a poor showing at York back at a more suitable track.
