ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 13th June

ITV Racing are live from three courses on Saturday 13th of June, with action coming from Chester, York and Sandown. With the listed Scurry Stakes and the Listed Grand Cup Stakes taking centre stage, there's also a strong line up of handicaps in support. We've gone through all the live races to pick out our tips and selections for the afternoon.

Smart Vision 28/1

Has some course form in the books going close here last season and lacklustre efforts this season have seen him fall to a very workable looking mark of 82. Lining up here 5lbs lower than his last winning rating and with plenty of rain around for juice in the ground he can outrun his big odds.

Chillingham 9/2

Won this race in the stewards room last year off a 6lbs lower mark under Becky Smith and reunites with the same jockey this year. He’s now fallen to an attractive looking handicap mark and will be fully fit from a pipe-opener here last month.

Startled 5/1

Progressive type and ran well in deep looking contest at Chester off a 2lbs lower mark last time out. This slightly longer trip looks like it will suit and he’s proven versatile for going conditions. Still nicely treated and can progress further in this sphere.

Brighton Boy 14/1

Arrives nicely in form and looks to have gotten away quite lightly with just a 2lbs rise in the weights for a good 2nd at Chester in a similar contest last time out. Has won on his only previous visit to York and will get a nice pace to aim at.

Lady Youmzain 6/1

Opened her account in good style over the minimum trip on soft ground before backing that effort up under a penalty. Shaped well to be 3rd in a listed race over 6 furlongs last time out in a listed contest, seemingly not quite getting home. Well worth another go at this level and this drop in trip looks like it’ll suit.

Mount Atlas 11/4

Beaten by Al Qareem on seasonal comeback but looked like he needed that run and reversed the form by a wide margin at Chester last time out. Progressive last season and took a good step forward to chase home Jan Brueghel in the Ormonde Stakes. Can confirm placings with Al Qareem from Chester.

Joolianos 16/1

Hit traffic and still won with a good bit up his sleeve at Ascot in a lower grade last time out and hasn’t been hit too harshly with a 5lbs rise in the weights. Gets weight from the whole field here and is progressing in this sphere. Up in class but still looks well handicapped, especially with Toby Moores 7lbs claim.

Fortification 17/2

Goes well here and took a 5 furlong handicap off a 5lbs lower mark last month in good fashion. Sent off favourite to follow that up a week later in a higher grade and just looked to lack the pace in a stronger race but still looks nicely treated. Up in trip and off the same mark, he can continue his progress.

Crown Office 6/1

Nice winner of a soft ground maiden at Leicester at the end of last season and likely needed the run when down the field in a handicap on seasonal return. Has been gelded since then and returns off a very workable looking mark of 83. Drops in grade and represents a yard in fine form for William Haggas.
