The feature race of the afternoon at Newmarket is the Group One 1000 Guineas and we are siding with Discoveries.

Jessica Harrington’s filly Discoveries looks a very interesting type in the 1000 Guineas off the back of her last run.The daughter of Mastercraftsman has been seen for times to date, finishing fourth on debut last term over 7f at Leopardstown behind Juncture who she takes on again here.

She got off the mark next time out at the Curragh, beating Aidan O’Brien’s filly Tuesday by a short head, who has since Franked the form.

Given a run on soft ground she still went on to finish a fair third behind Agartha for Joseph O’Brien but she didn’t handle the ground swell as she does on quicker surfaces.

Rounding off last season off in the Group One Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh, she reversed the form with Agartha and Sunset Shiraz with the quicker ground bringing the best out of her to go on and win.

The yard seem to have a good one with her progressing with each run and unlike the favourite Tenebrism she is likely to stay to the trip.

Trainer To Follow - Richard Hannon

Richard Hannon has a few nice chance on Sunday at Newmarket and for that reason is worth following throughout the afternoon.

In the opener he fields Amo Racing owned Miami Girl on debut and then in the second for the same connections has Sir Rumi, who has a chance.

In the second to last race it sees a Class 3 handicap where he fields Desert Eagle and Thunder Max that will be looking to go against the strong favourite.

Hannon will be looking to finish the day with a winner having the favourite Siamsa in the seven furlong Class 4 Handicap.

Jockey To Follow - Ryan Moore

Ryan Moore has a number of chances on the third day of the Guineas meeting and it could see him in and out of the winners enclosure all day.

His first big chance of the day comes in the Group Two Dahlia Stakes over 1m1f with him on the favourite for Ville De Grace for Sir Michael Stoute.

Moore then rides 1000 Guineas favourite Tenebrism who is 2/2 so far in her career and is looking to land her first Classic event and second Group One.

He rides Desert Angel in the Class 3 Handicap who is not without a chance.

Ryan Moore heads into the meeting sporting a strike rate of 33% for the last two weeks, managing to land 15 winners from 45 rides.
