The feature event of the day is the Grade Two Long Distance Hurdle and we think the value comes from the Irish raider Mrs Milner for Paul Nolan.

The six year old mare has been this yards shining light getting better and better throughout the season which saw her finish the season landing the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival.

Looking to compete at a higher level this term over three miles, she made her seasonal debut at Limerick in a Listed event and she made a great start when winning nicely.

That would have set her up perfectly for this event, getting weight off the field on Friday and also having a more unexposed edge into the race.

Trainer To Follow - Paul Nicholls

Paul Nicholls has some lovely chances to get in the winners enclosure at Newbury on Friday, especially in the first few races of the day.

In the first he fields Stage Star who made a very nice start to life over hurdles at Chepstow and although harbouring a penalty looks the one to beat.

In the Grade Two Novices' Chase Nicholls fields Pic D'Orhy who will need to jump better nut is not ruled out at all on the best of his form.

Nicholls heads into the meeting running at a 24% strike rate for the last two weeks, managing to gain nine winners from 37 runners.

Jockey To Follow - Sam Twiston-Davies

Sam Twiston-Davies sits second in the jumps jockey championships having a superb start to the season and he can extend that good run at Newbury on Friday.

His best chance of the afternoon comes in the Novices' Limited Handicap Chase over two miles with Boothill making the jump to fences having been a smart hurdles horse.

Another nice ride for the jockey comes on Good Risk It All in the Maiden Hurdle and although taking on a short priced individual he looks the best of the rest.

Twiston-Davies heads into the meeting on Friday boasting a 18% strike rate for the last two weeks, gaining nine winners from 50 rides.
