ITV Racing Tips for Today - Thursday 14th May

It's the second day of the Dante Festival at York on Thursday 14th May, with 6 live races on ITV from York and Salisbury to get stuck into for the afternoon. The highlights being the Group 2 Middleton Fillies' Stakes at York and the Group 2 Dante Stakes, we've gone through all the live races for our tips and selections for the afternoon.

Air Force one 13/2

It’s hard to get away from Air Force One at York, an impressive track record of a win and two places from 5 visits are solid on paper and his 2lbs rise for a recent win at Beverley still doesn’t leave him badly handicapped off a mark of 90 in this company. Carrying 8st13lbs, he gets a nice low racing weight and a promising looking draw. Can put his best foot forward here again.

Tryfan 10/1

Already a C+D winner last season and with backing that effort up with a win on the all-weather over the winter, he looks a nice price at 10/1 to be in the mix back at Salisbury. Outclassed in a strong race on the all-weather last time out but eases back on grade here and won off this mark of 80 last September. Fully fit, nicely treated and gets ideal conditions for a big run.

Old Cock 28/1

Looked in need of his comeback run at Newbury last month, travelling ok before fading out of contention in the last furlong. Returns to York for another crack at this race after winning this 12 months ago off just a 1lbs lower mark. Well campaigned back here and fully fit from his recent outing. A nice draw and racing weight sees him with a good chance of making it back to back wins in this race.

Got the job done at Nottingham on her reappearance, just scrambling over the line to claim a listed win. That effort will have sharpened her up nicely for this and with Fallen Angel setting fractions out in front she’ll get a nice pace to aim at. Two wins from three visits to York reads as strong course form and she’ll be hard to beat again looking for back to back wins of this race.

Christmas Day 9/4

Carried a penalty to success in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown last time out after his winter break, the form looking on the strong side. Notably is the pick of Ryan Moore for this of the Aidan O’Brien runners and shapes like this long galloping straight will see his stamina to best effect.

Dickensian 10/1

Looks too big at a double figure price, having run well in listed and group contests as a juvenile, finishing 3rd behind Revival Power twice. Gets a swing in the weights with that rival here and brings some of the better form to the race. Can outrun his big price tag.
