The PaddyPower Gold Cup Handicap Chase is the feature race on Saturdays card and we like the look of Protektorat for Dan and Harry Skelton.

The gelding skipped the 2021 Cheltenham festival in favour of the Grand National meeting and he was a superb winner of the Grade One Manifesto Novices' Chase for the drop back to 2m 4f.

He steps back down into a Graded Handicap for this event off a mark of 156 (2lb out) and if being the Grade One horse we all think he is, he should still go close in the event despite giving weight away.

Being a course and distance winner is also a huge positive and the yard are in typically good order.

Trainer To Follow - Dan Skelton

Dan Skelton was previously notoriously bad at the November Meeting, going 0-16 with runners here.

He then landed the Greatwood in 2016 with North Hill Harvey and has subsequently gone on to land four further winners at this Cheltenham fixture since.

He comes this year sporting a whole array of chances across the weekend, with some of his best running on the Saturday.

Third Time Lucki is a short priced favourite to assert dominance in the 13:40 whilst Proschema is also bookies favourite to land the 14:50.

Protektorat is looking well prepped to land the feature race of the day, The PaddyPower Gold Cup Handicap Chase.

His runner Spiritofthegames appears overpriced in that same race for a place whilst Signal Point is another each way shout in the lucky last.

Jockey To Follow - Harry Skelton

Keeping the Skelton theme strong, Harry Skelton is your jockey to watch, boasting all of trainer Dan's best rides on the day.

Harry Skelton is the current champion jockey in Britain and has totted up earnings of just over £1,000,000 at Cheltenham across the last 5 seasons; he certainly knows how to land a winner at the track.

He boasts a 22% strike rate when teaming up with brother Dan and is in decent form of late with a 17% strike rate across the last 14 days.
