After a very impressive debut season, Chindit scored his first three runs in emphatic fashion. Breaking his maiden easily, he then went on to score a listed race without breaking sweat.
Upped to group company off the back of that saw him capture a group 2 smartly before finding the Dewhurst too taxing. An impressive return in the Greenham Stakes saw him fancied for the 2000 Guineas but he found himself well beaten twice by Poetic Flare at Newmarket and Ascot.
His form remained low-key for the rest of the season, finding it hard to lie up in group company over 7 furlongs and a mile.
This season he’s fared a little better. Scoring a listed race on return when sent off a short odds favourite, he’s since mixed it at group 1 level and has been left in the wake of Baaeed.
This drop in class should help him and he hasn’t been disgraced in better races this season.
