Coral Eclipse Guide

1. Danceteria

T - David Menuisier

J - Jamie Spencer

David Menuisier has had a rather quiet year with his flag bearer Thundering Blue yet to fire this season, but he did have an outstanding run of form in June.

This horse formed part of that run when delivered to perfection by this jockey at Longchamp in the Group Three La Coupe over this distance.

His most recent British outing saw him finish six lengths down here to Regal Reality in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes, so ground to make up with the Sir Michael Stoute horse along with the rise to what looks to be a top turned-out Group One.

2. Hunting Horn

T - Aidan O'Brien

J - tbc

Biggest price of the eight runners and likely to make a pacemaking role for stablemate Magical.

Tried to do the same thing for the filly in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, but Frankie Dettori reeked the full effects of the pacesetter when he guided Crystal Ocean to victory for the horse's first career Group One.

The Italian will surely have the same idea up his sleeve riding Enable, on what looks to be a tactic run race as usual from Ballydoyle.

This horse's chances of winning remain remote.

3. Mustashry

T - Sir Michael Stoute

J - Jim Crowley

Al Shaqab Lockinge winner steps back up in trip after a poor effort in the Queen Anne Stakes.

Seventh of sixteen in the opening race at the royal meeting merited the decision to go back over further for the first time since actually winning here twelve months ago to the day.

The six-year-old won the Listed Gala Stakes in convincing style, and followed that up with a brace of wins at Newmarket and at Doncaster.

The one blip can be put aside for now, but this looks a tough ask given the quality of the opposition.

4. Regal Reality

T - Sir Michael Stoute

J - Kerrin McEvoy

The most interesting participant away from the two fillies (or now mare for Enable), is Regal Reality - stepping up in class after a promising display in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes in May.

Waited with since, Sir Michael Stoute's four-year-old had over six lengths in hand on Danceteria, correcting his decent third behind Beat The Bank [boosted since] at this venue before.

Aside from his debut, he has only competed at Class One level and is a certain Group One regular going forward.

Intriguing to see how he compares.

5. Zabeel Prince

T - Roger Varian

J - Andrea Atzeni

Useful start to the season, beating Mustashry in the Earl Of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket.

Took it to the next level when going up a gear to take the Group One Prix d'Ispahan at Longchamp next time out, but was much below par in the rain in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Has soft ground form to his name but the conditions really were tough in Berkshire, and perhaps he will fair better here, but some star names to contend with.

6. Enable

T - John Gosden

J - Frankie Dettori

Here she is, the Queen of Europe makes her first appearance after a 245 day break.

Last seen winning the Breeders Cup Turf ahead of Magical, she is a dual Arc winner and begins her road towards a third crack at the French highlight on what will be her first start at Sandown.

World class filly - one of the best of her generation, who will take some beating despite being the least fit of her rivals.

Superstar.

7. Magical

T - Aidan O'Brien

J - tbc

Cracking start to 2019 with a hat-trick of victories featuring the Group One Tattersalls Gold Cup in Ireland.

Beaten by a rapidly improving horse at Royal Ascot and did not soak up all the benefits of a pacemaker that day.

Has Hunting Horn here again, but Enable will be her biggest problem here once more.

Big contender though.

8. Telecaster

T - Hughie Morrison

J - Oisin Murphy

Big ground to make up after disappointing in the Epsom Derby, in which his connections lumped up £80,000 to supplement him in for.

Considered on the form that saw him end Too Darn Hot's unbeaten record in the Dante at York where he led from pillar to post, but hard to see him get the run of the race here.

Useful weight allowance but will need every pound of it and he looks to restart his season.
