Three Standout Performances - 16/11/2018

13:25 - Sun Hat

Sun Hat completed a hat-trick of wins on the All-Weather when landing the Follow Sun Racing On Twitter Handicap at Lingfield this afternoon.

There was a worry beforehand that she suited the Tapeta much better at Wolverhampton and at Newcastle, and that a switch to the Lingfield surface was a concern, but this filly put that to bed.

She began by tracking the leader, and led over 1f out. Was ridden and pressed inside final furlong but ran on strongly enough to win by a distance of a head.

14:25 - Count Meribel

Count Meribel combined his race fitness and experience to good use when landing the Steel Plate And Sections Novices Chase at Cheltenham on Day 1 of the November meeting.

In a competitive looking race, with featured Nicky Henderson duo Jenkins and Mr Whipped, the 6yo led narrowly when blundered badly three fences from the end, and was headed at the next.

He was strongly ridden by Mark Grant, but responded to jockey's callings and regained narrow lead on the flat, and despite edging left, he just managed to hold on in a bunched finish.

15:00 - Josies Orders

Josies Orders won the Glenfarclas Cross Country Handicap Chase for the second time in his career this afternoon.

His form figures at the festival venue read 11136 prior to today, and was receiving almost a stone in weight from two of the first three home in the Grand National back in April.

Led approaching 6 out, driven and headed narrowly after last, ridden to regain lead flat, and stayed on well.

Job well done for Enda Bolger.
