Age Of Kings was well bet for the Coventry before the off, but he could only manage 7th. However, he was a shade short of room towards the business end of the race and he wasn’t preserved with.

If he lines up here, it should be safe to assume he’s none the worse from Ascot, he didn’t have a hard race. He would rate as one of the likelier winners in what looks a tricky puzzle.

Unbeaten prior to the Coventry. Blackbeard went off the 5/2F for the Coventry at Royal Ascot but he was a well beaten 4th.

There didn’t appear to be many excuses for him there. A return to this C&D promises to suit though, as prior to Ascot, he’d won a G3 at this trip and track.

Will surely go well.

Improving son of Churchill who got off the mark at the third time of asking. He has ran to a reasonable level, but this represents a massive step up in grade, he’ll have to improve to continue on his upward trajectory should he be fighting out the finish here.

Maiden. Borletti is yet to get his head in front, though the races he’s ran in have looked quite good on paper.

He wasn’t beaten far on debut by Crispy Cat which reads well, then he ran relatively ok in a listed race next time out.

He will evidently need to improve here though, he looks up against it.

Arguably one of the unluckiest losers of the week at Royal Ascot, and he still ran a blinder to finish third in the Norfolk.

This step up in trip should suit as he tends to do his best work towards the finish, and the level of form he’s running to is more than enough to take this.

Big player if A1 after Ascot.

Third on debut over C&D here to Little Big Bear and Tough Talk, which is good form. He then backed up to win a competitive race at Naas, where himself, and Age Of Kings pulled 5L clear of the third.

He’s evidently very good, and he’s a nice pedigree too.

One to keep on side.
