ITV Racing Tips for Today - Sunday 24th August 2025

ITV turn their attention to a quality card from Goodwood on Sunday 24th August, finishing off a three day meeting at the Sussex course with group action, including the Group Two Celebration Mile Stakes. Two races from Beverley also televised, find all our tips and fancies for the live racing below.

Epictetus 20/1

His form recently has been nothing to shout about but his mark has adjusted accordingly and Epictetus now looks well treated off a mark of 94 and drops to a class 3 handicap.

Ran well at Newbury on seasonal debut behind My Cloud off a huge mark of 104. Midfield in the Royal Hunt Cup and clearly not staying 10f last time out on soft ground he now returns to a mile at Goodwood.

A previous course and distance winner, down to a lenient enough mark in a 0-95. He can outrun big priced odds.

Time Tells All 3/1

Clearly loves this venue having won on two of his last three outings, both of the wins coming here over the 10 furlongs trip.

Both of those wins have come in a lower grade, winning easily in a class 6 event back in July before scoring on return back to this track in class 5 company last time out.

Looks to back up that win quickly, turning out only 11 days later but runs off the same mark and should go close if handling the slight rise in grade.

Moon Target 5/2

Sir Mark Prescott looks like he’s unleashed a really smart one in Moon Target, who may not have beaten much in her first two starts but has been winning emphatically.

Scoring on debut at Newmarket by 5.5 lengths, she then backed that effort up under a penalty at a short price to run out a 7/5 lengths winner at Yarmouth.

Hasn’t beaten much but there could be more under the bonnet when she’s really asked a serious question. Well worth her go in this higher grade and looks the one they all have to beat.

Good Earth 12/1

Course form is important at Beverley and Good Earth sports some smart form over the course and distance here, winning once and being placed 3 times.

Ran well behind the favourite Emeralds Pride on his last outing here and sees a huge swing in the weights now.

Has dropped 5lbs in the handicap since his last effort here when 3rd and looks too well treated to ignore off a mark of 74.

Jakajaro 11/4

Only a small field go to post for this 6 furlong sprint but it’s hard not to like the chances of Jakajaro after running a huge race to be 3rd over course and distance in the Steward’s Cup here during the Glorious meeting.

The form looks strong with Two Tribes coming out and running another stormer at York despite the strong attentions of the handicapper and Get It should set a nice furious pace in front for something to aim at.

Can confirm favouritism for Robert Cowell and Billy Loughnane.

Persica 11/4

Jonquil heads the market but looks vulnerable to a stronger stayer over a mile and there’s going to be no hiding places in this field with some decent pace out in front.

It looks safer to side with Persica who handles these kinds of turning and downhill tracks well and arrives in good form having won at Epsom on his penultimate start.

Didn’t quite stay 10 furlongs over in Germany in a Group one last time out but down in trip and grade he should be seen to better effect.
