ITV are live for the Sunday Series from York on Sunday 7th September, showing all 7 races live on ITV4. Featuring a mix of listed and competitive looking handicaps. We've gone through all the races live on the afternoon to pick out our selections and tips for the action on the Knavesmire.

Delinquent 10/3

Of the two at the top of the market it could be argued that Delinquent has the better form of the two, being sent off a warm favourite for his first run at Pontefract and only being beaten by a nose.

The winner has gone close under a penalty since giving the form a bit of substance and he’ll take a good step forward for that experience.

Karl Burke’s juveniles have been in top form again this season and this one should go close again.

King Of Stars 11/1

It might just be worth taking a chance on the big priced King Of Stars now stepping up slightly in trip for this 5.5 furlong handicap on the Knavesmire.

York suits front runners, especially on the sprint track and he’s been in good form of late finishing in the frame on his last two outings.

Niggled down to a mark of 85 despite running well, he’s well treated and can put in another solid effort from on the front end.

Diamond Bay 13/2

This is a strong looking stayer’s Handicap but it might be worth coming down on the side of previous course and distance winner Diamond Bay.

He’s fallen to a low looking mark of 80 and is simply too well handicapped to ignore in the betting. Especially considering he shaped like a return to form was imminent with a good placed effort at Goodwood over 14 furlongs last time out.

Steps back up to an optimal trip and looks well treated at the weights. Can outrun his price.

Gunship 13/2

Was improving nicely over 10 furlongs earlier in the season, going close at Sandown on his handicap debut before winning well at Newcastle.

Stepped up in trip and grade for Royal Ascot and was left wanting for stamina over the 12 furlongs. Weakening badly into 15th.

Returns off a break now, should be nicely freshened up and will likely prove better than a mark of 89. The drop back to 10 furlongs should be ideal at this venue.

Prince Of India 9/2

Has improved bundles this season in handicaps and has looked a better proposition since dropping back to 6 furlongs.

Scored with a bundle in hand At Newmarket, beating American Style easily. Defied the handicapper when winning again at Ascot in a competitive sprint at the Shergar Cup.

Is well worth his position in listed company now and looks like he can take the step up in grade in his stride.

Seren Star 4/1

Did a lot wrong when last seen on her handicap debut but was probably unsuited by the small field and lack of pace. She was too keen but won regardless in good fashion.

Won over this strange intermediate trip of 9 furlongs and back in a bigger field she’ll get a better pace to aim at here which will see her to better effect.

The 4lbs rise in the weights won’t have even scratched the surface of her potential and she should get right in the mix again.

Harswell Ruby 14/1

A big priced swing in the finale, Harswell Ruby looks well treated in the context of this race considering how well she’s been running of late, coming 2nd by a nose and a short head in his last two outings.

She has caught the attention of the handicapper for her exploits and has been raised 3lbs in the ratings but that rise is offset by 3lbs claimer Jack Nicholls in the saddle.

One of the better apprentice jockeys, Roger Fell’s yard is operating at an 83% RTF, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Harswell Ruby outrun her big price.
