ITV Racing Tips for Today Thursday 27th August 2025

It's the finale of the Racing League for 2026 with the last 7 races of the competition for this year's renewal. The ITV cameras are live from Southwell on ITV4 for the final day of racing, we've previewed the card to pick out our tips and fancies for the card. Find them all below.

Criminal 9/2

Showed some good form last time out to be 2nd behind a strong improver in the shape of Tenability in a decent enough looking handicap at Ascot.

A return to the all-weather looks like it won’t be an issue after finishing 4th twice on synthetic surfaces in novice events.

Can prove better than a mark of 81 for an in form Richard Hughes yard.

Philanthropist 4/1

Well found in the market early for this off the back of a great run over Course and distance just 11 days ago to be beaten less than a length in 3rd.

Retains the same mark of 84 as for that close defeat and goes well at this venue.

James Franshawe is operating at an impressive 79% RTF and should continue his form with Philanthropist.

Ormolulu 8/1

Has to be ridden for a bit of luck but Ormolulu is starting to look well handicapped at drops to a lower grade looking fairly treated off a mark of 82.

She’s been unlucky in running the last couple of outings, travelling well but not getting the gaps when she needs and finishing strongly when she does see some daylight.

She can be frustrating in running but a furiously run 6 furlongs is her ideal and if the gaps do come she can come with a strong late challenge.

Sharedann 7/1

Stays well over 2 miles for the Ian Williams team but a line can be put through his last effort over 2.5 miles at Goodwood when tailing off last at the Glorious meeting.

Ignoring that poor effort, he showed some decent form over long distances placing twice.

Placed off this mark of 86 when last seen on the all-weather and can get in the mix again.

Fantasy Believer 17/2

A previous course and distance winner who last placed at this venue off a mark of 92, Fantasy Believer lines up now looking well enough treated off a mark of 90 to get firmly in the mix for Ed Walker.

The 8 year old has been in decent enough form this season, finishing 3rd the last twice off this mark and this slight step up in trip and return to this venue should suit.
