The first big race of the afternoon on day one of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting is the Group Two Chaudenay over 1m7f and fresh off the back of his win on Irish Champions weekend, Duke De Sessa looks a big player stepping up in trip.

A winner on his final start as a juvenile last term when taking the Group Three Eyrefield Stakes over 9f at Leopardstown ahead of some nice horses, he has found this season tough.

Finishing third on seasonal debut in the Group Three Ballysax Stakes, he was then well beaten in the Derby Trail at Leopardstown.

Getting back to form at the Curragh in a decent Group Three event when second behind Aikhal, he was last seen up to 1m4f in the Group Three Paddy Power Stakes and got up close home ahead of some talented horses.

Up a further three furlongs this afternoon his pedigree suggests he will revel in the trip and off the evidence of his last run the further he goes the better he is.

Player.

The first Group One of the afternoon at ParisLongchamp on Saturday is the Prix de Royallieu over 1m6f and Sea La Rosa looks the value in the field at 10/3.

A very bright horse for William Haggas over the last two years, she has really kicked on this season making her seasonal debut over 1m4f at Haydock in a Group Three event and winning easily.

Sent into the Group Two Lancashire Oaks over the same C&D she was a brave second behind superstar Free Wind, but got back to winning ways next time out at Goodwood, tackling 1m6f for the first time and winning the Group Two Lillie Langtry Stakes.

Sent over to France for her last run in the Group Two Prix de Pomone she made it back to back wins at Deauville and going back up in trip having raced well on soft before, she deserves her chance at Group One level.

The feature race of the afternoon is the Group One Prix du Cadran over 2m4f and we can't look past the favourite Kyprios who will be looking to keep his unbeaten streak going.

Running twice as a juvenile winning on debut over 1m 1/2f at Galway, he then went to Newmarket in the 1m2f Zetland Stakes and found it tough on just his second start.

Only ran twice as a three year old, he again won on seasonal debut at Cork and was then sent to Lingfield in the Listed Derby Trial at Lingfield where he didn't handle the very soft ground conditions.

He seems to have now come into his own as a four year old winning both his starts this term, starting over 1m6f in the Listed Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan.

Improving again for that run he went to Leopardstown and took the Group Three Levmoss Stakes by 14 lengths, to really put himself in the mix for the Gold Cup.

Since then he has extended his unbeaten record to five races, landing a hat-trick of Group One events, starting with the Group One at Royal Ascot, then the Goodwood Cup at Glorious Goodwood and then last time out on Irish Champions Weekend when landing the Group One Irish St Leger.

The soft ground is against him but he holds by far the best form in the race and should be tough to beat.

The penultimate event of the afternoon we are covering from France on Saturday is the Group Two Prix Dollar and we have dutched the race with two each way selections.

The first is Jean-Claude Rouget trained Lassaut who has done very little wrong this term and should go close off the back of his last run over course and distance.

Winning back to back races at the start of the season over a mile at Chantilly and Longchamp, he then went into the Group One French 2000 Guineas and could only finish fifth.

Moved up in trip for the Prix du Jockey Club he was a fair eighth with the race working out massively and he also franked he form next time out when winning a Listed event at Deauville.

Upped to 1m4f in the Group Two Prix Niel he was a good second behind Simica Mile and getting his preferred soft ground he is a big player.

At a slightly bigger price in the Group Two event is the Andre Fabre trained Junko who has some classy form next to Arc hopeful Al Hakeem and if improving again could go close at 10/1.

Winner on all of his first three starts this term at Chantilly and Longchamp winning a Group Three in his hat-trick bid race, he was then upped to 1m2f in the Group Two Prix Eugene Adam and was a good third behind the talented My Prospero.

Last seen at 1m2f again in the Group Two Prix Guillaume d'Ornano, he took Al Hakeem all the way to the line and with that form looking strong, he looks overpriced at 10/1 in this field.

Shouldn't mind soft ground.

The final event of the afternoon is the Group Two Prix Daniel Wildenstein over a mile and we are siding with the British trained Triple Time for Kevin Ryan who looks highly progressive.

A smart juvenile last term finishing third on debut behind the expensive Dhabab, he then went to Haydock and improved into second behind another nice type in Mr McCann.

Since then the colt has gone unbeaten in his last three events, winning at Haydock on soft ground in August last year on his first try at a mile and then back over the same C&D, this time at Listed level he saw off another expensive horses in Hafit.

Having his first run this term looking to make it a hat-trick of wins over a mile at Haydock, he did just that by taking the Group Three Superior Mile with ease.

Progressing throughout his career this is his toughest test to date but loving soft ground and handling a mile a well, he is the value at 9/2.
