Who To Follow On Day One At Epsom

Horse To Follow - Run To Freedom

The penultimate event of the afternoon is the Listed Surrey Stakes over seven furlongs and at a price the horse that we fancy is Run To Freedom for Henry Candy.

The three year old has only been seen three times and all of his runs came last term as a juvenile, starting over 7f at Newbury when looking to learn from his first experience.

He did just this when running next time out and finishing a good second at Kempton over 7f and then he was last seen getting off the mark over the same course and distance.

The form of his win in December is superb, with the second Highland Avenue since winning three times including in Listed company, with the third and fifth also going on to win since.

At 14/1 he represents big each way value.

Trainer To Follow - William Haggas

Leading British trainer William Haggas is set to have a big day round Tattenham Corner on Friday with some live chances in some of the big races.

In the second race of the day he fields the likeable Irish Admiral, who travelled into his last race like a dream just not finding enough when stepped up in trip, but now down to a distance he has already won at makes him an attractive bet.

Haggas' big chance on the day comes in the Group One Coronation Cup with Al Aasy who has been faultless this season, arguably giving the best performance of the season to date last time out.

The handler heads into the meeting with a respectable strike rate having landed six winners from his last 40 runners which sees him pose a 15% strike rate.

Jockey To Follow - Jim Crowley

Jim Crowley is a jockey that is riding at the top of his game and has been over the last few seasons and on Friday he holds key cards in the both the big Group One events.

In the Coronation Cup he will sit on the highly talented Al Aasy having partnered him on both occasions to date this term and then in the Group One Oaks, he holds a live chance with Zeyaadah for Roger Varian.

Crowley heads into the meeting sporting a 24% strike rate having landed eight winners from his last 34 races over the last two weeks.
