The Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter on Saturday is the feature event of the day at the Staffordshire based track and with a huge field going to post we have two selections.
The first is the William Durkan trained Screaming Colours who is weighted to go well and has a perfect profile for this race being an out an out stayer.
A highly consistent horse placing in all of his last six events, winning a handicap chase at Punchestown in November 2020 and has since put up four seconds and a good fourth in big fielded events.
Fourth in this event last year, the 11 year old ran a superb race and has been set up this season for another crack at this.
He made his seasonal debut this term at Cork when three lengths back in second behind the talented Braeside in the Cork Grand National, 19 lengths clear of the consistent Mister Fogpatches.
Off a mark of 142, with handy 3lb claimer Conor Orr taking a further 3lb off, he should go close.
