This weekend sees the Group One King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes and in the build up to the big race we are looking back at some of the past winners of the contest.
The Queen of racing Enable last year landed her third victory in the great race seeing off Irish Derby winner Sovereign and multiple Group One winner Japan.
Enable is widely known as one of the greatest flat horses of the last 10 years winning two Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe's, three King George's and other stand out middle distance black type events.
This performance saw her win the event by close to six lengths, with the third placed Japan being a further 11 lengths behind the second.
Ascot has been a happy hunting ground to Enable over the years and we will be sure to see her offspring running to a high level there in the future.
