ITV Racing Tips for Today - Thursday 9th July 2026

ITV Racing are live from both Newmarket and Doncaster for the start of the July festival from flat HQ. With six live races on the afternoon, the feature seeing Rebel's Romance head a field of 5 for the Joel Stakes, there's a good mix of top quality racing action to get stuck into. We've gone through all the live races to pick out our tips and selections for the day.

Del Maro 15/8

Desperately unlucky not to win the Queen’s Vase Stakes at Royal Ascot, thundering home to lose by a narrow margin. Can confirm the form with Point Of Law and Galiyan and get his head in front on this stiffer finish.

Amir Lehab 5/1

Brings experience to the table having finished 3rd on his debut at Newbury over 6.5 furlongs, just being collared late on. Will improve for having his first outing and will likely appreciate this stiffer test of stamina.

Adaay Of Scarlett 9/4

Unlucky not to win the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, just being collared late by Great Barrier Reef. Brings the best form to this contest and can gain a third career win here.

Count Bezukhov 9/4

Caught the eye on debut and improved for his second outing to win at the Curragh. Brings strong form to the table and looks like he’ll appreciate this step back up in trip. The Joseph O’Brien yard has been in solid form and Billy Loughnane catches the eye in the saddle.

Calico Blue 13/2

Won as a novice over 6 furlongs and has run with credit over the minimum trip of late, including a 4th at Royal Ascot. Should relish this step back up in trip and retains a mark of 93. Can go well again.

Rebel’s Romance 11/10

Carries a penalty for this but is a globe-trotting superstar for connections and has already won over C+D. Won when last seen in February in Meydan and is incredibly difficult to pass when he gets rolling.
