ITV Racing Tips for Today

It's Day Two of the July Meeting and ITV are live from both Newmarket and York on Friday 10th of July to bring six live races. With three group one contests and three strong looking handicaps to pick through. The fillies and mares take centre stage culminating with the Group One Falmouth Stakes. We've dug deeper into all six lives races to pick out our tips and selections for the afternoon.

Archer’s Bay 17/2

Shaped well on the Rowley Mile in a listed race to be 3rd behind two smart horses and returns now to more suitable ground and handicap ranks off a workable looking mark of 93. Can be forgiven for his lacklustre effort last time out and looks a big price for this.

Tip: 2.10 York

Angel Hunter 20/1

C+D winner as a juvenile and has fallen to his last winning mark off the back of some middling efforts as of late. The last twice he’s fallen to a mark of 89 he’s won and has conditions back in his favour here with a good draw. Needs to bounce back for form but is weighted to go well and will get a good strong pace to aim at.

Tip: 2.25 Newmarket

Libertango 4/6

Improved from her debut effort at Leicester to win the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in good style, the form being franked by the 2nd already. Five of the last six winners of this race have come from the Albany Stakes and it looks the filly juvenile form to side with again here.

Royal Fixation 7/1

Too free and fresh on her seasonal comeback last time out but brings some solid juvenile form to the table for this race having won a group 2 here and only being a creditable 3rd in the Group One Cheveley Park Stakes. Will improve plenty for having her first run off a break and if running to last season’s best will be bang in the mix.

Tip: 3.00 Newmarket

Goblet Of Fire 13/2

Regular winner on the flat for Nicky Henderson and scored again on the Rowley Mile over this trip back in May. The form has worked out well with the 2nd winning the Northumberland Plate since and although on a career high mark of 90, he’s still finding progression in this code. Carries a very nice looking 8st13lbs and can be in the mix again.

Precise 10/11

Bounced back from defeat in the 1000 Guineas to win the Irish equivalent at the Curragh and the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Improving and gets a hefty 9lbs from her older rivals. The one to beat again for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore.
