Oak Tree Stakes Guide

1. Pretty Baby

Trainer - William Haggas

Jockey - Jamie Spencer

The first horse of the contest has previous in this race when landing it last year and in his career he has been super consistent winning five out of his eight outings.

The course and distance form is a massive positive but he has been given a terrible draw to overcome which might make it very hard for him to repeat what he did last year.

2. Billesdon Brook

Trainer - Richard Hannon

Jockey - Sean Levey

This four year old filly has been frustrating at times in her career showing moments of brilliance like when winning the 1000 Guineas in 2018 but she has also been very hard to win with.

Recently she has been getting back to her best winning a Listed race on the all weather and finishing second last time out at Pontefract in another Listed and she could feature in the places.

3. Blizzard

Trainer - Ralph Beckett

Jockey - Harry Bentley

One of the outsiders in this big field is Blizzard who looks to need a career best to go close here off the back of her first run of the season finishing 14th in the JCB Handicap.

You might be able to excuse the performance and put it down to her first race of the season but stepping up in class today looks a bold move.

4. Dan's Dream

Trainer - Mick Channon

Jockey - Gerald Mosse

For the second year running this filly has been handed a vile draw and that will make her task so much harder with her having to come all the way around the field.

He could have a say in the places and if giving a career best even go one better as he has finished second twice in his three runs this season which does not match up as bad form.

5. Foxtrot Lady

Trainer - Andrew Balding

Jockey - David Probert

Has plenty to prove off the back of what she has produced so far this season and to have any chance in this one she needs to get back to her best.

However, this does not look like happening with her last win coming back in September of last year and she has shown no signs of improvement in all her runs this season.

6. Island Of Life

Trainer - William Haggas

Jockey - Pat Dobbs

Another horse that seems to be making up the numbers and it would take a huge revival if she was to go close in this one with her last win on turf coming back in June 2018.

She did have a few wins on the all weather at the start of this year that gives her some form to cling on to but a part from that she looks opposable.

7. Perfection

Trainer - David O'Meara

Jockey - Silvestre De Sousa

This filly will not be out of sorts whatsoever in this company finishing second in two Group 3 contests already this season and if improving slightly since her last run she has a big chance.

Her last run was her best of the season when second to a very promising filly in Ireland and now with SDS on baord he can bring more out of her.

8. Solar Gold

Trainer - William Haggas

Jockey- Tom Marquand

The second of William Haggas' runners in the field and Solar Gold looks to have a very string chance in the contest after being very progressive all season.

She does have a negative coming out of stall 18 but this season she has not finished out of the top three in all her runs and all her best runs have come over this distance.

9. Royal Intervention

Trainer - Ed Walker

Jockey - Frankie Dettori

Back in the colours of Lord Lloyd Webber Frankie will be looking to be in the winners enclosure again like he was with Too Darn Hot on Wednesday.

This three year old is stepping up to seven furlongs for the first time in his career but she is a big form player off the back of her latest Group 3 win at York.

10. Angel's Hideaway

Trainer - John Gosden

Jockey - Robert Havlin

Gosden has been flying this week so you can not rule this filly out. She has been a very frustrating horse to follow over the years but seems to be getting back to her best.

This season she finished a good third on her seasonal debut in the Nell Gwyn Stakes and she topped that form by coming fourth in the Group 1 1000 Guineas.

She was third in the Group 3 Jersey Stakes last tim and anything mirroring that performance today could see her take the glory.

11. Beyond Reason

Trainer - Charlie Appleby

Jockey - James Doyle

Today's return to seven furlongs seems a positive for this Godolphin runner who needs everything to fall her way here to really trouble the field.

She has hit a bad patch in her career not running her race in her last three contests but won twice in a row at Deauville before that and needs that form on Sunday.

12. Devant

Trainer - H-A Pantall

Jockey - P J McDonald

Another filly that has been very frustrating really over in France after showing clear potential as a juvenile and winning on debut and her last run as a two year old.

Since then she has struggled apart from a good third at Lingfield in a Group three and finding that form could make her interesting but it looks difficult.

13. Gypsy Spirit

Trainer - Tom Clover

Jockey - Ben Curtis

This filly will need to raise her game substantially is she is to be involved here, even though she finished a nice second over in France last time out it was in a weak race.

She was poor in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot and seemed to not handle the big field which won't put her in good stead for this race.

14. Jubiloso

Trainer - Sir Michael Stoute

Jockey - Ryan Moore

This filly looks very special and certainly the one to beat on what she has done during her career so far winning two of her races and placing last time out at Royal Ascot.

Her trainer put her straight into the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at the royal meeting and she handled it very well and now dropping down to a Group 3 makes her a huge player.

15. Lyzbeth

Trainer - Martyn Meade

Jockey - Rob Hornby

This unexposed three year old won on her second start last time out in a novice at Doncaster but it looks like this race has come slightly to soon.

This is a much tougher race and although she might be fresher than most of these horses it still looks a big task for her to go and win the race.

16. Mot Juste

Trainer - Roger Varian

Jockey - Andrea Atzeni

Another filly with a wide draw to contest with which makes it very hard for her but still holds a lot of ability especially from her first run of the season when a good second in a Group 3.

The drop to seven furlong is a big positive as she has tailed off in her last few races and it would not be a surprise to see her in the placings.

17. Rocques

Trainer - F Chappet

Jockey - Jim Crowley

This drop in trip needs to be the key to her success as recently over a mile she has lost her way and it will take a career best to see her go close.

A big positive is that Jim Crowley has picked up the ride and he has the potential to get the best out of her.

18. Stage Play

Trainer - Michael Bell

Jockey - Daniel Tudhope

This filly has been off for nine months and it looks a huge task to see her bounce back straight away in such a tough race especially as she is uncertain of staying over this far.
