Only seen once, Hectic made his debut for Richard Hannon last month over 6 furlongs at Newbury and scored nicely enough in novice company at the first time of asking.

Ridden handy, he hit the front 2 furlongs out and found himself taken on in the last furlong. Responding to urgings from his jockey and pressure from Alpha Capture, he kept on well to hold his rival by half a length. The form of that win has yet to be truly tested so it’s hard to know just how good he might be.

He moves up in trip here which looks like it’ll suit but he might just be up against some more progressive looking colts.

Shaquille

Currently at the foot of the betting is the once seen Shaquille. Debuting in a class 3 novice at York last month, the son of Charm Spirit was sent off 20/1 for his first run and sprung a surprise to win comfortably.

With the short priced favourite failing to fire, Shaquille was travelling powerfully and was only shaken up to hit the front. Kept up to task in the final furlong he stretched clear nicely.

The 2nd has run well enough in defeat since but again the form doesn’t look as deep as some of his other competitors.

He’ll improve for that debut win but will need to take a big step forward for this.

Andrew Balding’s charge made his debut over 6 furlongs at Newbury back in late June but found 6 furlongs too sharp for him to get competitive. He did show promise though and was keeping on smartly at the finish.

Upped to 7 furlongs off the back of that, he appreciated the step up in trip to break his maiden in novice company at Newbury.

He still looked a little green and was edging to his left late on but again he did his best work late on and got up nicely enough to score his first win.

Interesting to note, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th have all come out and won since. His form has been well boosted and Ryan Moore takes over in the saddle.

Not to be lightly dismissed.

Mill Stream

Age: 2
Weight: 9-3
OR: 95

Scoring on debut for Jane Chapple-Hyam at Doncaster over 6 furlongs in a maiden, Mill Stream just managed to get up to beat Endeared by a head.

Despite hanging right in the late stages of the race and looking green he just did enough to justify market support.

Endeared failed to boost that form last time out and Mill Stream was beaten into 2nd under a penalty last time out by Noble Style.

Moving up in trip looks like it’ll suit as he failed to quicken up enough to win over 6 furlongs last time out.

Well worth a spot in this grade, his form with Noble Style looks decent enough and he will still be improving.

Brian Ellison sent his son of Churchill for his debut run at Haydock over 7 furlongs back in June. Sent off 20/1, he failed to really show much in an 8 runner field and was beaten a hefty 16 lengths. Pulling too hard, he was too tired to really pick up when asked for an effort.

Making his second appearance up at Newcastle, he sat handier in the field last time out and hit the front with 2 furlongs to go. Keeping on well despite showing signs of inexperience, he kept on smartly enough to score by an impressive enough 4 lengths.

The 2nd and 3rd have been well beaten since, so his form doesn't look to have enough substance to suggest he will be good enough to be scoring here.

Indestructible

J: Rossa Ryan

Age: 2
Weight: 9-3
OR: N/A
Days: 23

Making his debut over 6 furlongs at the Curragh back in June, Indestructible was slowly away and never really managed to recover to get truly involved. Lugging to his left throughout didn’t help either and he came home 5th of the 16 runners.

With that experience in the books, the son of Kodiac was brought over to Windsor where he was sent off a very short priced favourite.

Going off 8/15 he still looked green in running but powered clear of his rivals to a very taking 5.5 length victory. Edging towards the rail for company he drew clear like a really smart horse. The 2nd has failed to boost the form since however.

He goes an extra furlong here and the form of his win hasn’t worked out, but he looked full of running at the line at Windsor and dispatched his rivals with utmost ease.

There’ll be plenty more to come from this exciting looking Irish raider.

Oviedo made his debut for Edward Bethell last month at Doncaster over 7 furlongs where he managed to get off the mark at the first time of asking.

Ridden in the midfield, he picked up smartly when asked to at the 2 furlong pole and kept stretching clear of the field smartly to win by over a length.

The 2nd has come out and won since to boost the form, but it was only in a 3 runner event so doesn’t build too much confidence.

He’ll come on for that run and will have improvement in him but might be lacking the quality for this group 3.

Age: 2
Weight: 9-3

Days: 30

Being seen for the first time at Ayr over 7 furlongs last month, he wasn’t particularly fancied in the betting and looked like he was learning on the job. Running on well late he managed to come home in 4th but never looked a threat.

However with that experience in the books, he managed to score over the same track and trip as his debut. Being held up, he came with a power packed run down the outside of the field to hit the front and stay on powerfully to the line.

The form doesn’t look the strongest however and the 2nd has since been beaten again. A lot more will be required of him here.

Only seen once for the royal blue of Godolphin, Dubawi colt Local Dynasty made his debut at Newmarket only 12 days ago but made a striking impression on his first outing.

Scoring over 7 furlongs in a maiden, he was a well fancied favourite in the betting and obliged favourite backers with a performance to take note of.

Despite getting loose before the race, James Doyle managed to keep a lid on the inexperienced juvenile. Asking for an effort 3 furlongs from home, he made up ground smartly on the outside of the field.

Hitting the front at the furlong pole he kept finding under pressure and pulled clear of the field smartly.

Hitting the line powerfully with 3.5 lengths back to 2nd and the rest coming home in intervals. He’ll come on bundles for that run and looks the right favourite.
