Four Standout Performers 10/10

Alnadir

Ton up for James Doyle as he rode a double at Nottingham - firstly with win aboard Alnadir in the EBF Stallions Oath Restricted Maiden Stakes. Doyle has been in the headlines for his ride aboard Sea of Class in the Arc on Sunday but showed his doubters his class as he won cosily by a couple of lengths. There was a difference in opinion as the field turned into the straight as many ran the rail route. However, the Doyler oozing confidence, kept his ride wide and went onto score for Simon Crisford.

Chilli Filli

Switching from the flats to the jumps, it just wouldn’t be a jumps day without a win for the Champion Jockey. Chilli Filli won easily at Ludlow with Richard Johnson aboard, scoring by almost fifteen-lengths. A typical Johnson ride - held up early, she began to make progress on the turn into the straight, cruising into an uncontested lead which saw her claim her third career success.

Sumkindofking

Only a small field went to post, but it resulted in one of the battles of the day. Jonathan Burke looked in trouble two out aboard Sumkindofking, when Gustave Mahler under the champion jockey Richard Johnson seemed to be going the better. But, the recent Market Rasen scorer’s class just about got him home, with excellent work from the man in the saddle.

Sovereign Grant

Much has been expected from this 2yo son of Kingman, and finally on the third time of asking, Sovereign Grant got off the mark, through an excellently timed ride from Will Buick. He tracked the leader throughout before heading clear in the final furlong and won a shade cosily. Combination of trainer and jockey continues to thrive.
