Chil Chil ran an absolute cracker when third last time out in the Sprint Cup behind Emaraaty Ana and Starman.

However, this was last September, and this is a competitive race to make his return in. He has to be up against it here with in-form, thriving rivals here.

Great Ambassador was ultra-consistent last year and he also ran to a very useful level.

However, he had a long break, and returned at Royal Ascot and finished well beaten in the Platinum Jubilee. He was 24/24 there and that has to be of huge concern.

If he’s back to last year’s form after a run to blow away the cobwebs, he’s in with a shout. We don’t know the ins and outs of his well-being though, so he presents as a risk.

Finished 20th of 26 runners in the Wokingham at Ascot, on that form, he’s held by a few of these. His last win came in the Cammidge Trophy of March 2021, and he’s failed to build on that effort since really.

He has questions to answer after his Ascot run, and it looks likely he’ll play a supporting role here.

Man Of Promise kicked off his season with two wins in Meydan. He was then given a few months off and he returned in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot.

He did run a solid race (8/16), when taking into account his lay-off and the rise in class. With improvement, it’s not hard to see him playing a major role here.

Definite claims.

Happy Romance is usually a model of consistency, she can be relied upon to give 110%. She ran a massive race in G1 company at the start of the year in Meydan to finish behind A Case Of You. She had a fair few of today’s opposition in-behind too.

She’s not been as good in her last two starts but Dubai sometimes leaves it’s mark. Massive shout if anywhere near her best form at a course she runs well at.

Inconsistent but flashes real ability. He was third of eight last time out at Sandown in the Coral Charge over 5F, and today’s extra furlong should suit judged on his work late on there.

He is difficult to predict but he has ability. He probably needs to find a few lbs of improvement though.

Winless since April 2021. He was down the field in the Platinum Jubilee at Royal Ascot and he didn’t appear to have any excuses.

That said, probably one of his best efforts came in this race last year, when only beaten a neck by Happy Romance, he also had a few of these in behind.

Claims if anywhere near that form, but will need to leave Ascot behind him.

100/1 for the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. There were 16 runners, and he was right at the bottom of the betting, so he ran a great race to finish 6th with little to no market expectations. Back to 6f should be a plus, and he should also get a good pace to aim at.

It’s likely he may well prove a few people wrong again. Place claims.

Has G1 form. He ran third in last year’s British Champions Sprint, which is some of the best form on offer here. This season though he’s not really kicked on.

He was third on his seasonal reappearance, and he failed to build on that effort at Royal Ascot, when finishing 13/24 in the Platinum Jubilee.

He will need to improve upon that effort but he’s high class and in with a shout.

Outclassed last time out in the Platinum Jubilee so this drop in class is a positive. Prior to Ascot, he won a listed race at Windsor in good, gritty style.

He does have form, but he will have to improve to win in G3 company, but this is a much more realistic level.

Winner of the Wokingham at Ascot, and there’s a suspicion that he just loves Ascot. He is often a hot and cold type horse, who struggles to maintain his form.

He will need to kick on again now up in class, and that’s far from guaranteed. Rohaan is difficult to assess.

Started off this season in style with a win in G3 company at Ascot. He was then fourth in the Sandy Lane (G2) and he lost a lot of ground at the start there and did well in the circumstances.

He was 10/20 in the Commonwealth Cup, which was a decent run, but much more was expected. He has a questions to answer now taking on his elders.

Ran to a very high level as a 2yo, but he’s failed to really kick on at three yet. This represents a drop in trip, he’s never raced at 6f before so this will be a different test all together against older, seasoned sprinters.

He does have a high cruising speed and lots of pace though, so it’s not beyond the question that this could be the key.

He will need to improve regardless.

Winless since his first ever start. His run last time out wasn’t too bad, he ran 11th of 20 in the Commonwealth Cup, and he probably ran a better race than the market anticipated.

He will need to improve, taking on his elders, and he does look like he’s seriously up against it.
