Who To Follow At The Curragh On Saturday

Horse To Follow - Santiago

The feature race of the day on Saturday is the Irish Derby and Aidan O'Brien is going in search of his 14th victory in the race and we believe he can land it with the favourite Santiago.

The three year old colt showed just how good he can be only eight days ago when landing the Group Two Queen's Vase Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He drops down two furlongs for this Group One event but that race looks the best form on offer and if not minding being turned around so quick he should land the spoils.

Trainer To Follow - Ger Lyons

If it wasn't for Aidan O'Brien Ger Lyons would have a lot more winners but with that in mind he is still a very respected trainer on the flat.

Lyons has had a superb start to the Irish flat season currently running at a strike rate of 29.55% having gained 13 winners from 44 runners during the last two weeks.

The handler has some big chances on Saturday at nice prices with his best runner of the day looking to be Frenetic in the Listed sprint contest.

The filly looks the pick of the bunch on form having one start and winning it nicely. The youngster won at Navan over six furlongs showing plenty of speed and the form from that race has worked out well with the second going on to finish a decent third in the Group Three Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Jockey To Follow - Colin Keane

With us putting up Ger Lyons as our trainer to follow it would be strange not to add Colin Keane to the mix and the Classic winning jockey has been running well since landing the 2000 Guineas at the Curragh a few weeks back.

The Irishman has had 16 winners from 85 rides during the last fortnight which currently sees him posing an 18.82% strike rate.

The Curragh has been a happy hunting ground for the rider since the start of the season with three wins and three places from 10 rides which see him have a 30% win rate.

He has some huge chances linking up with Ger Lyons and we are expecting the pair of them to keep up there good run of form.
