Who To Follow At Newmarket On Friday - 24/09/21

Horse To Follow - Benbatl

The feature race of the afternoon is the Group Two Joel Stakes and looking to land it for a second year is the Saeed bin Suroor trained Benbatl.

The son of Dubawi was impressive on his first run of last season in this event, finishing third behind Guineas winner Kameko with his handler explaining his six year old lacked a little bit of race fitness.

With slight complications he wasn't seen again last term and returned at Goodwood this term in the Group Two Celebration Mile and having ran a cracker he went down by a short head.

Having had that run he should improve massively and looks a big contender, holding some superb Group One form throughout his career.

We are hoping the favourite Master Of The Seas may need the run after the break and if that is the case then Benbatl is the value.

Trainer To Follow - Andrew Balding

Currently top of the leaderboard for the champion trainers title, Andrew Balding will be looking to finish strong and has some great chances on Friday to do so.

One of his best chances of the day comes from Majestic Glory in the Group Two Rockfel Stakes having landed the Sweet Solera Stakes on the July Course last time out.

Other nice runners for the yard include Fox Tal in the Listed Godolphin Stakes and Queen Supreme in the Group Two Joel Stakes.

Jockey To Follow - Ryan Moore

Ryan Moore has some lovely chances across the day on Friday picking up some rides for different trainers and it could see him in and out the winners enclosure.

The first big chance of the day for him comes from the Roger Charlton trained Ummalnar who is certain to come on for her first run of the season.

One of his better chances of the day comes in the Princess Royal Stakes with Golden Pass for Hugo Palmer running very well last time out and should back it up.

However, his best chance of the day comes in the Rockfel Stakes with Majestic Glory the worthy favourite for the event.
