The feature event of the afternoon for the Fillies' and Mares is the Group Two Cape Verdi and the horse that could go best of all is Wedding Dance for Charlie Appleby.

The four year old filly was a 600,000gns purchase who has been seen five times to date, needing her debut in June 2020 when only beating one home but off the back of that run got off the mark at Newmarket.

Sent to France in August she was a good second behind a nice French horse in Group Three company and was then stepped up to a mile for the Listed Rosemary Stakes, where she was mid-field.

Last seen in a Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Wolverhampton she was a dominant winner over seven furlongs and she looks to be one of the most unexposed horses in the field and the one with the most potential to improve.

Trainer To Follow - Charlie Appleby

Charlie Appleby ended last year as the champion trainer in the UK and will be looking to kickstart this year with a successful trip across to Dubai.

On Friday he has plenty of chances across the day, starting with Wirko in the Listed Dubai Racing Club Classic who looked a superb talent in Britain last year.

In the next race he fields Sovereign Prince who was tried over 7f for the first last time out and won nicely and looks very unexposed at the trip.

The final big shout on Friday for the Englishmen is the smart filly Wedding Dance who is looking to take the Group Two Cape Verdi.

Appleby could not be in much better form heading into the meeting currently running at a 42% strike rate having landed five winners from 12 runners.

Jockey To Follow - Pat Cosgrave

From a jockey perspective there are many big named riders that have come across to Abu Dhabi to ride on Friday, and we are siding with Pat Cosgrave to have a profitable day.

The experienced rider is frequently seen in Meydan every year and rides the track extremely well from his experience over the years.

In the Listed Dubai Racing Club Classic he sits on Dubai Future, who was second in the race last year and will be looking to go one better this term.

Another big chance for the rider is Thegreatcollection for Doug Watson, who was also second in the Group Two Al Maktoum Challenge last year and has every chance to go close again.

Finally, Roulston Scar has a huge chance in the Listed Dubai Dash looking for a four timer and already being a course and distance winner at the track.
