The Man 8/1

Has slowly dropped in the weights to a workable looking mark of 87 and hasn’t been disgraced in deeper races than this. Eases back in grade now to class 3 company and if getting back to his best, is too nicely handicapped to ignore in this company.

Lakers 8/1

This extra half a furlong will be ideal for Lakers, typically doing his best work late on over 6 furlongs, he’s been in and around the frame off his current mark all year and can find that extra bit of improvement needed with this extended trip. The de Foy yard is operating at a healthy 19% strike rate as of late.

Star Of State 4/9

Sets a really high standard at the top of the market here having come 2nd to Libertango in the Lowther Stakes. Drops back in grade and faces much weaker opposition here, a clear run and she’s a level above her rivals.

Military Code 10/1

Ran well on handicap debut last time out at Newmarket, just not quite getting home after hitting the front with a furlong to go. Has handily dropped 1lbs for that effort and Toby Moore retains the ride claiming 7lbs. Will be wiser this time around and likely try to challenge later than he did at Newmarket, this flatter finish will help his finishing effort too.

Sun Goddess 10/11

Narrow defeats on debut at Royal Ascot, she’s since improved bundles and won Group Two, Group One and valuable Sales race prizes. Sets the standard on form and has already beaten Green Empress twice. Should make it a fourth consecutive win.

Forty Years On 11/4

Progressive filly who has a fantastic career record of five wins from 7 starts. Took apart a good handicap at Goodwood when last seen and is well worth her chance now in a higher grade. Seems to act on any ground and can get right in the mix again under Hector Crouch.

Time For Sandals 5/1

Desperately unlucky not to win at York in the Nunthorpe stakes and finished absolutely full of running. Will get a good pace to aim at again here and has hit her peak. Will need a bit of luck in running again but if this falls right for her, she’ll be right there again.

Team Player 9/1

Has been in decent form this campaign and comes off a strong pace well. Put in a below par performance last time out but has shuffled back down 1lbs in the weights. Has shaped like this slight drop in trip will help.
