Who To Follow At Leopardstown On Boxing Day

Horse To Follow - El Barra

The two mile Maiden Hurdle where the exciting El Barra for Willie Mullins will be tough to beat and looks a horse to follow this term.

The six year old gelding is highly regarded for top connections and having finished second behind Fury Road in a point to point back in 2018 and then bought by Rich Ricci.

He was not seen for sometime, but finally made his seasonal debut this term at Thurles in November when getting off the mark in fine style.

He looks as though he could be a hard horse to train but holds bundles of ability and will be hoping to dominate this race to put himself into the Supreme Novices' Hurdle frame.

Trainer To Follow - Gordon Elliott

It is either Gordon Elliott or Willie Mullins that is going to be the man to follow at Leopardstown on Saturday and we have gone with the former.

Elliott has some serious chances to get on the scoreboard for the Christmas meeting on Boxing Day, starting with Zanahiyr in the Grade Two Juvenile Hurdle.

Another big player for the master trainer is 2019 Supreme Novices' Hurdle fifth Felix Desjy who is looking to extend his unbeaten run over fences.

Elliott has a decent record over the last 12 months at the track posing a 16% strike rate and with that he is running at a profit £22.85 from a £1 level stake.

Jockey To Follow - Jack Kennedy

With Gordon Elliott you also have to watch Jack Kennedy with the young rider set to be on board his best chances throughout the day.

As mentioned Zanahiyr and Felix Desjy will be the contenders for the rider and trainer on the day, but Kennedy also has some other chances throughout the day, with Timoteo in the Handicap Chase set to go well.

Kennedy heads into the meeting in fine form with five winners from 24 rides in the last 14 days which sees him running at a 20.83% win rate.
