A tricky race to solve considering you've got Jumps jockeys riding on the Flat but this horse went very close over course and distance when last seen 15 days ago. Can go well once more especially off an unchanged mark and with ground conditions to suit.

Moonrise 13/2

Has thoroughly impressed in two career starts to date when winning on debut and finishing a close second over 6 furlongs at Ascot. Oisin Murphy who rode her to victory on debut is back in the saddle today and the Andrew Balding stable are in more than solid enough form of late so has to be considered here.

Veblen Good 33/1

In what is a very open looking race we've gone for a horse at a massive price and he certainly ticks a few boxes which could see him outrunning his odds. Only seen 5 days ago but ran well then and on penultimate start so if that hasn't taken too much out of him he can go close again with a bigger field to suit. Yard in decent form of late and trainer David O'Meara also has a rock solid 28.13% strike rate with horses returning in less than 7 days in the month of July.

Touleen 5/6

Is a very talented horse and probably should have won last time out but with William Buick back riding today and the market reflecting her chances she looks tough to beat. If getting a good ride and a clear passage through today her rivals will have a lot on their plate to get the better of her.

Pride Of Arras 11/2

Loves running and winning here at York and should be putting in a monster effort after hopefully coming on from latest outing when running in France finishing behind Calandagan. Ralph Beckett also has his horses in fine order at the moment with the yard currently operating at a more than healthy 24% strike rate (past two weeks).

Back In Black 15/2

The favourite is probably worth taking on in a race such as this and Back In Black arrives here off the back of two decent efforts when finishing second twice at Newcastle and Newmarket. A consistent animal so it would be a surprise to see him out of the placings especially off an unchanged mark.

Calandagan 13/8

Has form figures of 1211 at Ascot and is one of the best racehorses in the world so if he arrives here fully fit and ready to go he'll be very tough to beat. Won this race last year and also won well last time out when seen in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in France.
