Listed winner who went close over C+D in a higher grade on her last outing of the season last year. Hasn’t quite stayed 12 furlongs on her last two outings, but drops back in trip and gets conditions to suit. Can outrun her double figure odds.

Valedictory 3/1

Has improved bundles for going up in trip, winning over C+D before backing that up at Newmarket three weeks ago. Looks to have gotten away quite lightly with a 3lbs rise in the weights and is still progressing in this sphere.

Mirsky 13/2

Scored in a career best effort over C+D back in May, winning the Thirsk Hunt Cup off a mark of 93. Has now fallen back to that mark and goes incredibly well at this venue. Two wins from three visits here and a workable looking handicap mark, it would be a surprise to see the David O’Meara trained 7 year old not in the frame again.

Al Aasy 9/4

Is in the twilight of his career aged 9 but has won the last two renewals of this race and showed he retains plenty of ability when winning a listed race at Beverley with a good deal in hand last time out. The course suits his running style and he will be produced late again by Tom Marquand.

Santorini Star 6/1

It’s a tricky renewal but with the rattling fast ground, Santorini Star is proven on a quick surface having won a Group 2 over 12 furlongs at the start of the season. She stays well over this trip and is a previous course winner. William Haggas is in fine form and although she carries a penalty for her success back in May, she might just handle the ground better than her market rivals.

Fandom 20/1

In fine form this season, winning at Thirsk back in May and shaping well to be 3rd over 5 furlongs at Ascot in a deep race last time out. Will be suited by this step back up in trip, is only 1lbs higher in the weights and has a nice high draw. The Richard Hannon yard is operating at a 20% strike rate in the last two weeks.

Startled 8/1

Progressive in turf handicaps, winning three times, coming 2nd over C+D in May and a forgivable 7th last time out when getting no luck in running. Has risen in the weights for his form but 5lbs claimer Harry Vigors takes over in the saddle and the form of his 2nd over C+D looks strong. Can bounce back to form.
