Three Standout Performers - 15/10/2018

2:00 Ginger Fox

The Richard Hannon-trained Ginger Fox prevailed as an easy winner in Division II of the Injured Jockeys Fund Nursery Handicap.

Finishing a distant second by a 1/8 favourite (Jash) last time at Salisbury, Ginger Fox chased the leading trio and began to close in the final quarter-of-a-mile.

He stayed on well and won by just over two lengths, awarding Rossa Ryan with his 52nd win of the season.

2:30 Aplomb

Half an hour later, Aplomb bolted up under Martin Harley in the British EBF Novice Stakes. Despite being keen early on, Harley pressed the illusive button and immediately got a response from this 2yo son of Lope de Vega. Already been gelded, he stretched clear and asserted in the final 100 yards.

2:20 Pepys

Pepys claimed a sixth win of 2018 by striking at a glorious-looking Musselburgh in the Racing UK’s Biggest Ever Flat Season Handicap. He fought off a strong challenge from the Tim Easterby-trained Make Me who just found one rival too good for the third time in a row. Smart performance and a good ride from Graham Lee.
