Three Standout Performances - 21/01/2019

13.30 - Yellow Dockets

Yellow Dockets followed up her easy success here at Warwick three weeks ago with another decisive victory, this time in the racingtv.com/freetrial Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle under Nico de Boinville.

She is very lightly raced as an 8yo, and looked rarely in any doubt when making all over this course and distance on the last day of 2018.

It was essentially a mirror reflection this afternoon - having made all once again and despite hanging left before the last, she was another winner for the Champion Trainer, who notched up 100 winners for the season on Saturday.

13.50 - Ingleby Hollow

Ingleby Hollow was a class apart in the RaceBets Racing From Over 40 Countries Maiden Hurdle at Sedgefield this afternoon.

He showed improvement over hurdles at Wetherby last time, and was expected to be closely involved today.

However, he was in no sort of race whatsoever, and strung the field out like Monday morning washing - although today, the clothes would have frozen up!

Always prominent, the 7yo led after the first and made the rest. Pushed clear before 2 out, he kept on strongly, to finish fifteen lengths ahead of the second, who in turn was clear of the third by nineteen lengths, with the fourth an extra fourty-four lengths out of the placings.

An absolute rout.

14.20 - Briac

Half an hour later, Briac proved his competitive nature once again for Tim Vaughan, after scoring in the RaceBets Money Back 2nd All Races Handicap Chase.

Briac fell on his only chase start, and had won off this mark over hurdles before. Winning at Ffos Las just a week ago, he was sent off the 11/10 favourite, and unlike most on Monday, was swtiched off at and waited with at the back of the field.

He began to make smooth headway approaching the 11th, and went 2nd travelling well before 2 out. The 8yo challenged between the final two fences, and was soon clear easily.

Smart performance, and appears back on top of his game.
