One Donnacha, One Joseph & One Aidan O'Brien Horse To Follow

Donnacha O’Brien - Fancy Blue

Donnacha ignites his first full season as a trainer with a small but quality bunch of horses and Deep Impact filly Fancy Blue looks the pick of the bunch.

She is out of former Aidan O’Brien filly Chenchikova and is unbeaten in two career starts for his father.

Both victories came over an inadequate trip but she got the job done which is generally the sign of a smart horse.

She finished strongly in both outings and looks ready made for 1m4f which is reflected by her 20/1 quote for the Epsom Oaks.

Joseph O’Brien - Pondus

Joseph has a deeper squad with new additions strengthening an already strong team and the move from James Fanshawe looks an interesting one for Pondus.

This son of Sea The Moon was highly regarded by his former trainer with his best piece of form being his second to Addeybb in the Rose Of Lancaster.

If he can improve as a 4-y-o under Joseph this gelding is one to keep an eye on.

Aidan O’Brien - Mogul

This £3.4m son of Galileo carried a lofty reputation as a 2-y-o but he disappointed in the Futurity only managing fourth.

We are happy to forgive that effort as it was run on the straight AW track at Newcastle and he has always shaped like further than a mile would be preffered.

He is a full brother to Japan, Sir Isaac Newton and Secret Gesture, all of whom improved as they moved up in distance and Aidan is always looking at the long-term plan for his horses.

More to come.
