The 3 year old daughter of Sky Lantern broke her maiden at the start of this season before a slightly disappointing run to be 3rd in listed company behind Primo Bacio.

She quickly left that behind however and was desperately unlucky not to catch Alcohol Free in the Coronation Stakes on deep ground at Ascot.

She finally get her day in the sun when winning the Falmouth Stakes in a tight finish.

She’s been unable to regain the winning thread since however and only managed to come 3rd in the Sussex Stakes behind Alcohol Free and Poetic Flare.

She was last seen coming 4th in the Prix Du Moulin. She’s shaping like she wants a stiffer test of stamina and was grossly outpaced at Goodwood.

A good amount of rainfall will be in her favour but she’s vulnerable at the top of the market.

Aidan O’Brien’s charge ran to very high levels in group races as a 2 year old last season. Rounding out her season with a valiant 2nd at the Breeder’s Cup meeting she came back this season to win the 1000 Guineas.

She was then 2nd in the French equivalence before finishing 3rd to Alcohol Free and Snow Lantern in the Coronation Stakes.

She was then 2nd in the Falmouth Stakes behind Snow Lantern before nailing another Group 1 win in the Prix Rothschild in Deauville.

Last seen coming 3rd in the Matron Stakes, she didn’t have the clearest of passages and had to settle for 3rd place.

One to watch.

Jane Chapple-Hyam’s Saffron Beach comes here off the back of a devastating Group 3 win at Sandown over a mile.

A perfect 2 year old career saw her come 2nd in the Nell Gwynn Stakes before finding only Mother Earth too good in the 1000 Guineas. Moved right up in trip for the Oaks, she didn’t stay the longer trip and only managed to come 8th in the classic.

She was then left for dead in the Falmouth Stakes when dropped back down 1 mile and only managed to beat 2 rivals home. She was also a massive 12 lengths behind Snow Lantern.

She did get her head back in front last time out when dropped in grade but has been beaten by Mother Earth and Snow Lantern already this campaign.

She looks held on that form but could get in the mix for a place.

During a very successful flat season for Jessica Harrington, No Speak Alexander has provided two group wins for her connections this season.

She’s had a slightly disturbed campaign this season but took a Group 3 on comeback before coming 3rd in the Irish 1000 Guineas on deep ground.

After a short break she returned in the Prix Rothschild at Deauville but was easily beaten and had to settle for 10th behind Mother Earth.

She surprisingly easily reversed that form in the Matron Stakes when getting the better of Mother Earth.

It was somewhat of a shock bounce back to form as she went off 25/1 for her Group 1 success.

Mother Earth’s lack of luck in running helped greatly but she still ran with great credit to hold off a late surge from Pearls Galore.

Not without hope to hit the frame.

A 5 year old for Amanda Perrett, Lavender’s Blue has been highly consistent down the years for connections but she hasn’t had a good record in this race.

She’s had two attempts at this and only yielded a 4th place and last year an 11th place. She did break her maiden over this course and distance so the likelihood is she’s not of the quality to get competitive here.

She has been successful in lower grade races and has notched listed and Group 3 successes in her career but took her form to new heights when winning the Celebration Mile at Goodwood on her most recent outing.

The form took a boost with Benbatl taking the Joel Stakes in style recently.

She’s struggled in this grade and race previously but comes here off the back of a career best.

Off the back of a 7 furlong Group 3 win against her own sex, Just Beautiful notched her first group success for Ivan Furtado at the start of September.

Winning a novice race narrowly at the start of the season, she moved up to listed company to score over 7 furlongs with ease at Musselburgh.

Another runner who tried the Falmouth Stakes but was beaten by Snow Lantern.

She was denied over a mile again in Group 3 company over in France before dropping back to 7 furlongs for her most recent win.

She’s got lengths to find with those at the top of the market and has looked more at home in a lower grade over a shorter trip.

Primo Bacio has really stepped up as a three year old for trainer Ed Walker, signified by her Listed win on her second start at York, seeing off Snow Lantern by close to five lengths.

Since then she has taken a slight dip in form when fifth of 13 on the July course in the Falmouth Stakes and then only mid-field in the Group One Prix Rothschild, not enjoying the soft ground.

Last time out getting her preferred good ground she was well below par only beating one home in the Group Two City Of York Stakes and with potential of soft ground she looks to have a lot to do.

Opposed.

This filly had a brilliant season as a 2 year old and was clearly precocious to narrowly be denied in a Group 2 on only her second career start.

She dropped in class and went up in trip to 7 furlongs to break her maiden in listed company before taking a Group 2 of her own over in France.

She came back to racing this season with a brilliant run in the 1000 Guineas to be 3rd behind Mother Earth and Saffron Beach.

A trip over to Ireland for their equivalent race didn’t pan out and she only managed to come home 10th.

Again she was easily beaten by Alcohol Free in the Coronation Stakes.

She looks to have loads to find with those rivals and was beaten in a Group 2 last time out. Maybe not to the quality of her rivals here.

A 3 year old daughter of Rio De La Plata, Tahlie has recently moved over to Roger Varian’s yard after spending the rest of her career in France.

She had a brilliant season over there for connections and notched up a hat trick of wins. Winning a listed race and then a Group 2 for fillies’, her last run on the other side of the Channel came when coming 8th behind Mother Earth in the Prix Rothschild.

It’s an interesting switch in yards that might bring about some improvement but she couldn’t live with Mother Earth on home turf and is unlikely to find the improvement to close

Willie McCreery’s filly took 6 attempts to break her maiden but managed to follow that up not long after to notch a Group 3 win at Gowran Park against her own sex.

She managed to nail another Group 3 win with ease on her first run of the season and backed that up with a Group 2 win over a mile on deep ground.

Rattling fast ground in the Pretty Polly Stakes didn’t suit next time out and when last seen in the Matron Stakes she struggled to get competitive on quick ground again.

Rainfall will be in her favour and she was devastating at the Curragh when the ground was riding very slow. One to keep in mind in case the ground gets bottomless.

Ed Walker’s Dreamloper managed to win a brace of races last season. A mightily impressive novice win was followed up by a handicap win at Ascot, but it wasn’t until mid way through this season that she really rose to prominence.

Beaten by Lights On in a handicap at Ascot, she reversed that form in style when routing that same rival in a Group 3 on fast ground at the same venue.

Unable to drop in trip to furlongs for a Group 2 last time out she moved back up in trip for her most recent run where she came 10th in the Matron Stakes.

Not of group one quality and seemingly best on rattling fast ground, she looks up against it to get seriously involved.

As a 2 year old, Shale looked like she was going to be a brilliant miler this season but has failed to live up to expectations.

Winning a Group 3 at Leopardstown and Group 1 over 7 furlongs at the Curragh earmarked her for a big classic season.

However, she’s not managed to win a race as a 3 year old.

She’s languishing at the bottom of the betting with her best run coming in a Group 3 over 9 furlongs at the Curragh.

She’s been easily held behind Alcohol Free and finished well behind Mother Earth in the Matron Stakes. Likely to be used as a pacemaker for her owner mate Mother Earth.

A 4 year old for Johnny Murtagh, Champers Elysees had a lethal 3 year old campaign, graduating from handicaps to win a listed race, a Group 3 and then a Group 1 over a mile.

She only tasted defeat when contesting this race last season she went off favourite but only managed 4th on the deep group behind Nazeef.

She hasn’t been in the same form this season and hasn’t managed to notch a single win.

She was stone last in the Falmouth Stakes behind Snow Lantern back in July has been beaten in a Group 3 and a Group 1 since.

Most recently being well beaten behind No Speak Alexander and Mother Earth at Leopardstown.

She looks to have plenty to find to get competitive.
