Lily Pink 7/4

Sets a strong standard at the top of the market for this novice event having made a pleasing debut in a small field at Newmarket earlier in the month. Just being denied by a neck by a more experienced rival, she should come on for having her first run and go one better here.

Tall Trees 3/1

Improved for a step up to 7 furlongs to be 2nd at Newmarket, the form looking decent as she split two subsequently listed placed fillies. Stepped up in grade over C+D and shaped well to be 3rd in a decent listed contest, not getting the clearest of runs. Posted the fastest final furlong in the field when she did get into the clear and should be hard to beat dropping back in class.

Ghost Mode 8/1

Won with a good bit in hand in at the Glorious Goodwood meeting over C+D last time out and doesn’t look to have been too harshly hit with a 4lbs rise in the weights. Moves out of his age group here but looks a progressive type and is still unexposed as a handicapper over this trip. Rob Hornby takes the ride again for the in form Balding team.

Gonna Fly 14/1

Didn’t suit fast ground at Goodwood last time out, but with plenty of rain forecast, looks like he’ll get slower underfoot conditions and a greater test of stamina on this stiff course. Has already won on soft ground and nudged down to a nice looking mark of 93, with conditions in his favour, he could well out run a double figure price.

Tony Montana 5/1

Hasn’t been in bad form this season in handicaps at this level and stayed on well over C+D to be 4th here last time out behind Al Aali. Retains a mark of 94 for that run and will likely appreciate the rain providing a little bit of give underfoot. Handicapped to be competitive and when the rain comes, might just handle testing conditions better than his rivals.

Calendar Girl 7/2

A talented juvenile last campaign, winning a valuable sales race and a group three contest being put away for the winter. Returned from a long lay off last time out and proved she’s trained on with a fantastic display at Haydock to win a listed contest in good style. Steps up in grade here but handles some cut underfoot and can find more progression. Less exposed than Moon Target and looks the one to beat.

Seagulls Eleven 4/1

Scored over C+D on soft ground at the Glorious Meeting last year and likely just found things happening a bit too quickly here last time out in a deep renewal of the Sussex Stakes just 2 weeks after his 2nd in the Summer Mile. His best form has come on softer ground and although giving weight to Zavateri, he looks like he can outstay that rival over a mile on testing ground.

Breacher 3/1

Made a very pleasing debut at Salisbury back in June, travelling well and showing a really powerful turn of foot to win impressively. The race has churned out a subsequent winner to get it some substance and there’s likely more to come now he’s got experience under his belt.

Marquetry 9/2

With plenty of rain about this daughter of Sotsass might just be at home for her debut on softer ground, she’s also out of a mare who’s turf efforts all came on softer than good ground. Represents the in form Balding yard and could just get off to a strong start on her first outing.
