It’s interesting that Aidan O’Brien only sends one here for this and although Expanded has yet to win in listed or group company, he’s been going close and brings some smart form to this. A good 2nd in 2024’s Dewhurst is smart form before a very quiet 3 year old campaign. Had his sights lowered for this season and ran well to be 2nd to The Lion In Winter on soft ground over a mile before a 2nd over 7 furlongs on quicker ground last time out. This step back up in trip looks the right move and the ground will hold no fears. Can outrun his double figure price tag under Ryan Moore.

Rhoscolyn 10/1

Handles softer ground fine and has started to look well handicapped after some lesser recent efforts. Has eased down to a very attractive looking handicap mark of 87 and is right at home over 7-8 furlongs. Gets conditions in his favour and is well treated on last season’s form.

Bay Of Stars 12/1

Scored on the all weather at Dundalk and improved for a step up in trip at Down Royal last time out to be a staying on 3rd. The substance of that run looks solid, with the winner coming out and franking the form and he’s snuck into this right down the bottom of the weights carrying 8st4lbs. Handles a bit of cut in the ground and will get a nice hot pace to aim at. Can do his best work late on again into the frame.

Lazy Griff 9/4

Has run well at Chester before to be 2nd in the Chester Vase to Lambourn last season and showed his talents lie over staying trips now with a good listed win at Sandown last time out. Can pop out in front again in this and put the pressure on these. Carries a 3lbs penalty but is in the best form in the field.

Ten Bob Tony 13/2

Won over this trip on slower ground at Epsom before taking a huge step forward to win the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot in impressive fashion. Proved that was no fluke with another big run in the Sussex Stakes to be 4th despite being slightly hampered in the running. Handles cut in the ground, is fine over this trip and is in the form of his life.

Mr Hollywood 14/1

Willie Mullins has won 2 of the last 3 renewals of the Ebor and sends an interesting looking one in Mr Hollywood this year. A Listed and Group three winner over in Germany, he ran well behind Illinois at Royal Ascot in the Queen Alexandra Stakes. Did catch the eye of the handicapper for that effort and lines up here off a mark of 105 but handles any ground and is with a trainer that targets this race.

Coul Angel 12/1

Needs a touch of luck in running due to his style but the form of his last effort has worked out well, finishing ahead of Air Force One who came out and won at the meeting on Wednesday. Doesn’t look to have been too harshly treated upped 2lbs in the weights and the ground looks to be drying out nicely. Drawn high where the fresher ground looks to be.
