Twice a winner on soft ground over in France and hinted that she’s coming to form with an eye-catching effort at Glorious Goodwood. She’s looked like things have been happening a little too fast for her on rattling fast ground, but onto a slower surface and a decent looking handicap mark of 90, she could well be more at home.
Caballo De Mar 5/2
Didn’t handle the Ascot Gold Cup, tailing off, showing signs of heat stress post race. It’s an effort that’s not worth dwelling on and his penultimate outing on softer ground saw him snag a Group One over in France. Stays well, is right at home on slow ground and is capable of conceding a 3lbs penalty.
Agamemnon 12/1
A little more exposed than some of his rivals, having had 5 runs, but looks to be on an upward curve, coming 3rd to Apraho Gold at Newbury before a staying on 2nd in France last time out. Shapes like a soft ground 6 furlongs might just bring out the best in him.
Night Raider 12/1
Can be a little hard to trust, but started the season in flying form, taking a group 3 and a group 2 in good style before flopping slightly at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood. Has handled slower ground in the past and a clean break would see him hard to peg back.
Zanndabad 14/1
Ran well in this 12 months ago off a 3lbs higher mark to be 4th and although he hasn’t run to his best this campaign, he does handle some cut underfoot and looks nicely handicapped. Will need a bit of luck in running coming from the rear from stall one but theres some pace on in front and it should just give him a nice tow into the race. Will do his best work late on as others tire in the ground.
