Four Standout Performers - 22/10/2018

King Cnut 2:50 Plumpton

Tom Cannon rode a quick fire double at Plumpton this afternoon, which included a fine victory aboard Chris Gordon-trained King Cnut.

Prominent throughout, he led four from the finish, and if anything was going further clear up the home straight. Only 4yo, he jumped beautifully throughout and could have a bright future ahead of him.

Manuela De Vega 3:30 Pontefract

This 2yo filly out of Lope de Vega was backed prior to the Silver Tankard Stakes as though defeat was out of the question.

A listed race over the mile, Harry Bentley had to be patient on the inside rail. The jockey spotted the gap two out and went on to win a shade cosily. A smart looking prospect for Ralph Beckett.

Fresh Terms 3:40 Windsor

Fresh Terms has frustrated backers on his two most recent starts, but he put it right today when winning the Ben Woollacott Memorial Handicap.

Man of the moment Oisin Murphy led from the front and never saw a rival. When asked to win the race, he found another gear and was unchallenged in the closing stages. Progressive.

Royal Hall 4:20 Plumpton

Royal Hall completed a hat trick of wins taking this valuable prize - the SIS Supports Moorcroft Handicap Hurdle. Despite mixing between flats and jumps, Royal Hall came into this having won his last two outings over obstacles at Fontwell for trainer Gary Moore.

Jamie Moore in the saddle bought his time, and let Bugsie Malone fly off and set the pace. Handling the late challenge of Exitas, Royal Hall went on and scored by half-a-length. Nice performance.
