ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 18th July

ITV Racing bring seven live races across three cards on Saturday 18th July, with a mix of flat and jumps action. Group action from Newbury sees the feature of the Hackwood Stakes for the sprinters while Market Rasen host a competitive looking renewal of the Summer Plate. We've gone through all of the televised races to pick out our tips and selections for the afternoon's racing action.

Oceans Four 7/2

Took a step forward at Royal Ascot last time out, running a screamer at 80/1 to be 4th in the Hampton Court Stakes. Gets the 3 year old allowance here and a similar effort to what he showed last time out would see him firmly in the mix. Tom Marquand catches the eye in the saddle.

Moon Chime 10/1

Arrives in good form and gets his ideal conditions here similar to when winning the Swinton Handicap Hurdle off a 4lbs lower mark on his last run over hurdles. Last seen winning on the flat, he doesn’t look badly treated at the weights still and gets 3lbs claimer Nick Slattery back in the saddle.

Almhuit 11/2 - Won this race last year off a 2lbs lower mark and shaped well enough over C+D last time out, not suited by the small field dynamics. Should get a good lead to track with Duraji forcing the pace and is handicapped to win this race in back to back years.

Breizh River 10/1

Goes best over this trip and scored cosily at Cartmel last time out. Not too harshly hit in the weights with a 4lbs rise, with conditions in his favour and the Tristan Davidson yard operating at a 30% strike rate of late, he can put in another bold bid.

Song Of The Clyde 11/2

Won a listed race over C+D on penultimate outing and wasn’t disgraced in a deep renewal of the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. Drops back to calmer waters now and gets a handy 5lbs from his elders. Rossa Ryan catches the eye in the saddle.

Salamanca City 11/2

Scored well at Goodwood when upped in trip last time out and the form has worked out well since with the 3rd coming out and winning twice since and the 4th placing since. Looks to have gotten away lightly with a 4lbs rise in the weights and has won under Danny Muscutt before. Trainer James Franshawe is operating at a solid 31% strike rate as of late.

St Etienne 13/2

Made a pleasing debut over 6 furlongs at Newmarket against more experienced rivals and has had this race lined up by trainer Richard Spencer. Will have a hot pace to aim at, stays further than this trip and should get this set up nicely to do his best work late on under a low weight.
