Dewhurst Field Hots Up As Hannon Dreams Big With Chindit

Dewhurst

Richard Hannon has a huge chance in the Group One Dewhurst Stakes at the weekend with not just one horse running, but two stand out colts that both sit near the top of the market.

The horse that the experienced trainer seems to be the most set on is Chindit who he has explained looks like “one of the best” he has had in his yard for some time.

Chindit has shown his class on the big stage this term when being unbeaten on all three of his starts to date and having landed the Group Two Champagne Stakes last time out, he has a very live chance of landing black type glory.

The other of the handlers assault on the race is the also unbeaten Etonian, Who has been seen twice at Sandown during his short career and last time out stepped up to take the Group Three Solario Stakes.

Pat Dobbs had the choice of which two he would ride in the race with the him going for Chindit, Tom Marquand has picked up the ride of Etonian.

(Credit ATR) Hannon said: “On Thursday morning Chindit did an extremely good piece of work, probably one of the best pieces of work we have seen at Herridge for a lot of years.

“We are hopeful that both will run very well, but I think Pat Dobbs was particularly pleased with Chindit and he had the choice of rides.

“On Tuesday morning Etonian did a very nice piece of work, he has never been that much of a showy horse, but he worked well and he is on target for the Dewhurst, Tom Marquand is going to ride.”
