Derby Winner Serpentine Supplemented For Arc

Serpentine

Aidan O'Brien's Derby winner Serpentine has been supplemented for the 2020 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday with 16 currently confirmed for the Group One contest.

Connections to the Epsom Derby winner have paid 72,000 euros to enter the three year old into the event, after they were pleased with the colts run last time out in the Grand Prix de Paris when finishing fourth behind stablemate Mogul.

The son of Galileo was a shock winner of the Derby this season when only breaking his maiden a few weeks before the Epsom Classic contest and then under a front running ride by Emmet McNamara landed the Group One by just under six lengths.

Mogul, Japan, Sovereign and dual Classic-winner Love complete the Ballydoyle handlers assault on the race, where he will be looking to land his third victory in the prestigious race.

The ground is currently very soft at Longchamp following 0.9mm of rain in the last 24 hours. The penetrometer was changed from 3.9 from 4.0, only helping those who love running in the mud.

Enable and Stradivarius go for John Gosden, where as French raiders, Persian King, Sottsass, In Swoop and Raabihah all still make the line up on Sunday.
