Aidan O'Brien Sends Four To Lingfield On Thursday

14:30 - Coral Beach 6/1

The first runner of the day for Aidan O'Brien and only his fifth ever runner at Lingfield on the all weather is Coral Beach who goes in the Listed Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes.

This three year old filly won twice as a juvenile and looked like a decent horse but her campaign as a three year old has been less than impressive in tough fields.

Now back in a calmer and race of lesser ability she may be able to find her first win in eight races and on her only run on an all weather surface she was a credible third in a similar event.

15:00 - King Of Athens

This two year old colt could end O'Brien's baron run at this track which strikes back to 2002 when his last winner was Castle Gandolfo on the all weather.

The Ballydoyle handler fields this juvenile who is really searching for some kind of form having ran four times in his short career and only posing a threat to the leader on his debut.

He finished a nice second over six furlongs behind Group Two Coventry Stakes winner Arizona who has since ran to a superb standard in the Dewhurst Stakes.

From there you thought King Of Athens would become a smart colt but he has gone the other way finishing towards the back of the field in Group Two and Class 2 races.

Last time out he was back in a Maiden at Cork and could only manage fifth, he is back up to seven furlongs at Lingfield and needs to improve in another weak contest.

15:35 - Delphinia 4/6

The feature race on the card on Thursday at Lingfield is the River Eden Fillies Stakes over 1 mile 5 furlongs and Aidan O'Brien has two runners but this three year old is certainly the one to beat.

Delphinia has been superb this season really coming to life when being stepped up in trip in some good races and putting in some smart performances.

It seems from the way she has ran this season that soft ground or even heavy is her preferred surface but with how versatile she has been the all weather should not phase her.

Last time out at Longchamp over her first run at 1 mile 6 furlongs she was a superb second in very soft ground to Epsom Oaks winner Anarpurna in the Group One Prix de Royallieu.

She put in her career best performance next time out on British Champions Day in the Group One Fillies And Mares just being headed at the line by the mighty Star Catcher.

Now dropping down to a Listed event she is head and shoulders above this field on ability and should put this race to bed with ease.

15:35 - Invitation 40/1

O'Brien's second runner in the staying Listed contest is Invitation at 40/1 and surprisingly three time champion jockey Silvestre De Sousa is in the saddle.

The filly needs the all weather to help her immensely after some awful performances in her last three runs, finishing last of the pack in a Group Three and two Listed events.

She is yet to run on the all weather but back in August did look a nice filly when winning a maiden at Galway and needs to get back to that form to have any chance here.
