ITV Racing Tips - Friday 9th October

Tip: 13.15 Newmarket

Fast Track 9/1

Only finished a short head behind Flann Sunna at Doncaster last time out when doing a little too much out in the lead last time out and looks a big price to get in the mix for this contest. Will get leader to tow her into the race better and gets back on her favoured rattling fast ground. Plenty of experience in the books and represents the fantastic Balding and Murphy combo.

Tip: 13.50 Newmarket

Dark Issue 20/1

Has form tying with Nuit D’Eclair with the pair filling 2nd and 3rd in the Dick Poole Stakes last month. Heavy ground seemed to blunt Dark Issue’s ability last time out but this return to a sounder surface and step up in trip look to give her a nice chance here. Looks overpriced at 20/1.

Tip: 14.05 York

Wassail 9/2

Scored in a novice over 7 furlongs before winning a handicap well over at Newmarket. With both pieces of form producing subsequent winners and him not quite getting home over a mile last time out, he brings good experience to this contest and although conceding weight all round, represents the Karl Burke yard who do well with their juveniles.

Tip: 14.25 Newmarket

Flora Of Bermuda 15/8

Has relished the step up to 7 furlongs this season, winning well at Goodwood and going close at Doncaster last time out. The form taking a boost with the 3rd winning during Arc weekend. Still improving at this distance and James Doyle returns to the saddle.

Tip: 14.40 York

Tierra Del Torro 10/3

Holds the standout piece of form in this field with his 4th placed effort in the Melrose handicap over C+D last time out and has gotten away with just a 1lbs rise in the weights for the effort. Stayed the trip well and will appreciate getting back on a sounder surface. Unexposed over this distance.

Tip: 14.57 Newmarket

Musical Times 4/7

It’s hard to get away from the short priced market leader for this after her demolition job at Doncaster when she routed the field in the May Hill Stakes to an impressive 7 lengths victory. Looks a superstar in the making for Charlie Appleby and can maintain her unbeaten record here.

Tip: 15.12 Chepstow

Knickerbockerglory 22/1

Has a fantastic record when fresh, posting figures of 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd in recent year after a 100+ days lay off. Enjoys soft ground and with plenty of rain about should get conditions close to what he needs and looks nicely handicapped off 138. 5lbs claimer Harry Atkins leaves him looking really nicely treated for his return.

Tip: 15.30 Newmarket

Turty Tree 13/2

Did good late work at Ascot to squeeze through and win a handicap last month. Looked to have gotten away quite leniently with just a 3lbs rise in the weights and the form looks strong with Archers Bay coming out and finishing 2nd in a listed contest since. Still unexposed in this sphere and can find more improvement.

Tip: 15.43 Chepstow

Lord Byron 9/4

Still a maiden over hurdles but posted some fine efforts in strong contests last season, signing off the campaign with a 2nd in a Grade One at the Punchestown Festival. A recent pipe opener on the flat will leave him match fit for this and with his age allowance and Harry Cobden in the saddle, he can get off the mark here.
