Noble Yeats

Age: 7
Weight: 11-8
OR: 160
Days: 33

Another son of Yeats and one who caused a massive shock when winning the Grand National at massive odds of 50/1. He beat the well fancied favourite that day Any Second Now by 2 ¼ lengths.

Noble Yeats may have captured the hearts of many after that astonishing performance at Aintree and racegoers were looking forward to seeing him run again after.

He returned to British soil by winning a Class 1 event at Wexford just 33 days ago showing he still has the talent to threaten those who he faces here.

Not out of things and has to be fancied to make it 2-2 stepping back up in trip.

Richie McLernon

Sam Brown

J: Richie McLernon
T: Anthony Honeyball
N/A
Age: 10
Weight: 11-8
OR: 159
Days: 35

The oldest horse in the race at 10 years of age, but has shown he can still put up decent efforts as seen in previous runs.

He won the Grade 3 Betway Handicap Chase at Aintree in April beating the Skelton runner Shan Blue by a whopping 15 lengths.

He jumped well that day and stayed on really well too at a big price of 28/1. Sam Brown was a good third last time out in the Charlie Hall finishing behind the likes of Eldorado Allen and the current King George favourite Bravemansgame.

Certainly not ruled out here and is capable of another big run so may put it up to Ahoy Senor and co.

Dashel Drasher

Age: 9

Days: 28

Dashel Drasher has been a very good horse for connections as he showed tonnes of ability both over hurdles and fences. He won fairly well last time out beating some decent horses in a Class 2 event at this course.

He stayed on strongly that day, but likely to find a few too good here and has to find more stepping up in trip. Conditions will suit him, but has it all to do here in Grade 2 company.

James Bowen

Chantry House

J: James Bowen
T: Nicky Henderson
N/A
Age: 8
Weight: 11-10
OR: 158
Days: 260

This 8 year old son of Yeats has been a very consistent performer over fences winning six of nine career starts over the larger obstacles.

He goes well fresh so the 260 day absence may not be a problem for this horse. He has been pulled up in two of his last three starts, but you can put a line though both.

Before that he showed his talent when winning a Grade 1 at Aintree over 3m1f and a Class 1 Intermediate Chase at Sandown.

Has the potential to run a big race so cannot be ignored for an always strong looking stable.

Ahoy Senor

J: Derek Fox
T: Lucinda Russell
N/A
Age: 7
Weight: 11-7
OR: 161
Days: 35

Ahoy Senor has shown so much ability in some of his races to date meaning he is now a 161 rated horse. He was unbeaten in two starts over hurdles and has been impressive over fences too.

He won the Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree in April beating the Gordon Elliot trained Fury Road by 5 lengths.

After a 204 day break, a lot was expected of him as the 11/10 favourite to go and win the Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby 35 days ago, but things just did not work out.

His jumping certainly was not fluent and was racing keenly meaning he eventually got pulled up.

He enters calmer waters here and will surely go off as the favourite again and more is expected at a course where he has won before.

A major player and has to bounce back in order to take this.

Sounds Russian failed to win in his three starts over hurdles, but has looked a different animal since being sent chasing.

He has won four from six starts over fences which included an impressive performance last time out over 3m2f at Kelso beating Aye Right by 4 ½ lengths.

Has race fitness on his side and that could count for a lot so he has to be respected.
