A thrice raced horse in bumpers, 6 year old Letsbeclearaboutit has shown definite promise in the Irish National Hunt flat scene having won 2 of his 3 starts.

He certainly wasn’t disgraced on his last run when bumping into the ante post favourite for the Champion Bumper Sir Gerhard.

Gordon Elliott’s bumper weapon hasn’t been declared for this contest and will likely head straight to Cheltenham.

Letsbeclearaboutit’s 3 runs have all come on soft to heavy ground so he certainly operates with a decent bit of cut in the turf.

He sets a strong standard having recorded 2 wins in the discipline already, but shoulders the penalties for his success.

He gave weight to Sir Gerhard last time out and was a clear cut 2nd behind the impressive winner.

He’s got conditions to suit and certainly isn’t without place claims despite carrying the most weight in the field.

The lethal bumper combination of Elliott and Cold team up with Chemical energy here.

The 5 year old is unbeaten in bumpers and has been highly impressive in both of his wins so far.

He hasn’t been seen since the start of the season but both wins were done with the utmost of ease.

Second on his last start, On Eagles Wings has won a maiden hurdle since, further boosting the strength of the form.

He too carries penalties for his successes and gives weight away to all but one of the field.

The 5 year old has shown good versatility on going and has handled good ground and ground with some cut in it.

Likely he wouldn’t want it absolutely bottomless as he has a strong turn of foot so should be ok on the current forecasted soft ground.

Sits prominently in the market and has a strong unbeaten record to maintain, a main contender.

A point to point recruit for Terenece O’Brien, Anglers Crag showed ability on rules debut to win a bumper handily by 6 lengths.

Last seen in the listed bumper behind Sir Gerhard and Letsbeclearaboutit, the 5 year old struggled to get competitive in deeper waters and was beaten by 13.5 lengths.

He’s already a mammoth price for this and despite showing some ability and winning a race, he’s highly likely to be out of his depth again here and is unlikely to reverse form with Letsbeclearaboutit.

Probably one that’s best avoided.

Immediately pricks ears with the combination of Patrick and Willie Mullins team up with last year’s winning connections on Kilcruit.

Already spearheading this market at a short enough price, the 6 year old was beaten on debut last March by Captain Kangaroo, who’s since gone hurdling.

He reappeared this season with a comprehensive win in December at Navan where he handily dismantled a field which has yielded bumper winners since.

He might be lacking in experience compared to some of his rivals but he swooped from the rear of the field with ease on his last run and comes from a stable that’s impossible to ignore in this sort of race.

If fully fit he sets a strong standard and looks a worthy looking favourite for the Mullins clan.

Emmet Mullins and prolific amateur rider Derek O’Connor combine for Noble Yeats.

The 6 year old was only seen at Thurles a few days ago winning under rules at the second time of asking in impression fashion by a huge 19 lengths.

The son of Yeats ploughed through the heavy ground to absolutely bolt up in the 2.5 mile bumper.

He was sent off favourite for bumper debut over two miles but found the trip seemingly on the sharp side and couldn’t reach the front 2 to finish third.

The extra trip seemed to draw out the improvement and it could be concerning that he’ll be trying to back up after 10 days and come back down in trip.

If handling the drop back down to two miles he could replicate last year’s winner Appreciate It by warming up for this with a win over much further.

Ramillies represents the Donnelly family and Willie Mullins as the combination is becoming a prolific duo in jumps racing.

Seemingly the stable second string, the previous course and distance winner showed real ability when scooting clear of the field at the end of December.

That run came off the back of a year long lay off and the gelding showed no signs of rustiness or lack of fitness to ease 10 lengths clear of the field.

The point to point winner was beaten on debut but given a year off the track clearly did him wonders and he built on the experience of a debut 4th to win handily in Dublin last time out.

The form has gone untested but he went through the race in very taking fashion for powerful connections.

Only the one bumper victory means he receives weight from a couple of rivals.

The course and distance winner has obvious claims and handles soft ground incredibly well. One for the shortlist.

Jessica Harrington’s only runner is 5 year old Ever Present. A winner on bumper debut at a big price, the gelding was certainly found out when last seen in the listed bumper at Navan won by Sir Gerhard.

Despite showing signs of promise on debut to outrun obvious signs of greenness, he was well found out when upped in class and was beaten 13.5 lengths by Sir Gerhard.

With form to reverse with Anglers Crag and Letsbeclearaboutit, it’s unlikely he’ll be playing much of a role in this harder contest.

This 5 year old was seen twice in bumpers in England last season, finishing 8th of 10 and 6th of 6.

A switch of yards and a move to Ireland saw him reappear in December to capture a race at Tramore on deep ground at a huge price of 28/1.

A switch in tactics saw him make all and not see another rival for the 2 miles last time out.

In a deeper race here he’ll likely not be allowed to dictate and control the race from the front like he did at Tramore.

He carries a big price tag to follow up his only success and it would be very surprising to see him make all against better rivals here.

The Banger Doyle

A well experienced 5 year old gelding, The Banger Doyle has had 5 runs in bumpers, but finally got his head in front at the 5th time of asking last time out.

Third on debut to Supreme hopeful Ballyadam back in last March earmarked him with ability. He was third again last summer to the very impressive Weseekhimhere.

He’s been unfortunate this season to bump into Sir Gerhard and Hollow Games, both of which had him well held in second, but without opponents of that quality he put his experience to good use and won at Punchestown by half a length in December.

He’s not got the most attractive of profiles but has been highly consistent this term and deserved his win.

It’s concerning the high class performers like Sir Gerhard brushed him aside so easily. He’s likely to be vulnerable to the classier horses in this field and will struggle to get involved.

The last of the Mullins string, Whatdeawant has only been seen once on a racecourse but duly obliged at the first time of asking by winning well on debut at Fairyhouse.

The form has yet to be tested since so It’s hard to assess just how good he could be.

He showed greenness to wander around late on but kept on well to assert his debut victory.

It’s worth noting he scalped expensive recruit Ginto for Gordon Elliott at the odds of 4/9.

There’s not much to go on but he showed raw ability on his only start and is wide open to further improvement.
