ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 28th July

The ITV Racing cameras are live from both Cheltenham and Bangor on Friday 10th December, with seven races televised on ITV1. A tricky looking Cheltenham card with trappy handicaps is supported by two handicap Chases over at Bangor. We've gone through all the live races to pick out our tips and selections for the afternoon.

French Emperor 4/1

An improving handicap hurdler for Nicky Martin who scored at Worcester before an impressive win here at Cheltenham at the November meeting. Has climbed another 7lbs in the weights but he looks as if there’s still room for improvement and can rate better than a mark of 120. Sean Bowen takes over in the saddle.

King Turgeon 11/2

It’s hard not to like the chances of last year’s winner King Turgeon, who put in a stellar performance in this race 12 months ago. He shaped like he needed the run in the Grand Sefton last month but should be set up perfectly to try to go back to back in this race. Only 3lbs higher than last year, he carries a low 10st2lbs on his back here. Should be going close again.

Copperhead 8/1

Ran a screamer in this race last year, finishing ahead of Eldorado Allen and just behind Numitor in 2nd by just a neck. Returns 12 months later for his first outing of this campaign only 3lbs higher in the weights. Goes well fresh, looks well treated and his yard are in decent form at the minute. Can play a leading role under Freddie Gingell.

Mister Coffey 6/1

Has still yet to win over fences but rarely runs a bad race and came 2nd again when last seen over 2.5 miles at Cheltenham last month. Came a close 2nd in this race last year and doesn’t look badly treated only 2lbs higher in the weights. Should run his usual race again and finish in the frame.

Kyntara 7/1

Connections looked to have abandoned chasing after he reverted back to hurdles at Aintree with a pleasing enough 4th behind Impose Toi. Is back on the same mark that same him place in the 2024 Cheltenham Festival’s Pertemps Final. Should be fit from the recent comeback and can get in the frame again under Charlie Deutsch.
