ITV Racing Tips for Today - Saturday 13th December

Saturday's racing from Cheltenham and Doncaster is live on ITV1 showing eight live races from the two courses. Doncaster host the listed Doncaster Hurdle whereas the December Gold Cup takes centre stage over at Cheltenham. We've gone through all the televised races to pick out our selections and tips for the day.

Theonewedreamof 6/1

Had some decent form over in Ireland before making the switch to the Skelton yard, coming 2nd on debut at Chepstow before winning well at Exeter over 3 miles. Drops back in trip for this but gets on a slower and more testing surface. Sure to do her best work late on and still looks well treated despite a 5lbs rise in the weights.

Vincenzo 9/2

Was well backed into favourite for the Paddy Power Gold Cup and was maybe a touch unlucky to bump into Panic Attack who franked the form when winning the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury. Has likely gotten away lightly with just a 2lbs hike in the weights and will be primed for another big run. Should go well again under Dylan Johnston.

Excelero 4/1

Shaped nicely to win a brace of novices hurdles last season before trying 2.5 miles on chasing debut and seemingly not seeing out the trip well. Dropped to 2 miles at Warwick last month and handily made all in a small field. A 7lbs rise looks fair and this stamina test over 2 miles should really suit him. Can continue to progress in this sphere.

World Of Fortunes 7/2

At the prices, Kateira looks a shade too short for this having never won over 3 miles, despite running well over the trip. It might be safer to side with World Of Fortunes who won a listed novice hurdle over track and trip last season. The Irish mare has won a handicap this season and was just narrowly held off in a listed race last time out. Stays well and should be able to put it up to the favourite late on.

Conman John 7/4

Stays well and stepped up to 3 miles on the Old Course back in October to an impressive victory. Lines up unbeaten over hurdles and ready to tackle this step up in grade. Looks to have a big engine and should be hard to beat if in the same mood.

Bowmore 9/4

This is quite a poor race for the grade and the in form Bowmore might have just found a good opportunity to notch up a quick double. Narrowly denied at Market Rasen in October, he handled a 2lbs nudge up in the weights to win in good fashion at Newbury last time out. Stung with a 10lbs rise this time, he’s feasibly still ok treated and has found a weak looking class 2 race. The one to beat on form.

Jubilee Alpha 2/1

Carries a heavy weight in this handicap but was unlucky not to win off top weight on her seasonal comeback at Wincanton last month, clattering 2 out and just being held off by Sweet Caryline. Faces the same rival on similar terms and should appreciate the stiffer finish at Cheltenham. Looks head and shoulders above the rest of these and should be good enough to defy her lofty mark.
