Who To Follow At York On Saturday - 24/07/21

Horse To Follow - Mohaafeth

The feature race of the day at York on Saturday is the Group Two York Stakes over 1m2f and we can't look past the superstar Mohaafeth for William Haggas.

The son of Frankel has been seen four times this season and has landed a hat-trick of wins having got off the mark for his career at Lingfield in March in a Novice Stakes and he then backed that up in a handicap at Newmarket over 1m2f.

One of his best performances of the season came when landing the Listed Newmarket Stakes over 1m2f, seeing off the smart Secret Protector by an easy five lengths, never really having to come off the bridle.

He was third favourite for the Derby, but his handler did warn that if everything wasn't right for him he would not run and that was the case.

The three year old was instead switched into the Group Three Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot and he ran out a superb winner.

It has been gradual progress from the exciting colt and now going up in grade again he should take it in his stride, having his ideal conditions. On a five timer.

Trainer To Follow - Tim Easterby

Tim Easterby is one of the best trainers in the north of the country and over the years has not been shy at turning out winners on the Knavesmire.

In the Dash Handicap the handler holds a very smart hand with Golden Apollo and Flying Purisuit near the op of the market holding very similar form lines which look attractive from a betting angle.

Other big chances for Easterby on Saturday include Bollin Neil in the Stayers Handicap and Eclipse De Lunar in the middle distance handicap.

Easterby has managed eight winners over the last 14 days running at a strike rate of 11% and he has a big chance to add to that tally at the weekend.

Jockey To Follow - Jim Crowley

The jockey to follow from York on Saturday is ex champion jockey Jim Crowley, who looks to have the pick of the rides, especially in the feature.

Mohaafeth in the Group Two York Stakes is his big chance of the day with the superstar looking to land a five times stepping up in grade.

Other chances for the experienced rider is Ernesto in the Stayers Handicap and Pagan who is the current favourite in the lucky last.

Crowley heads into the meeting in fine form running at a 17% strike rate having landed six winners from his last 36 rides over the last two weeks.
