Wednesday Stateside Preview - 27/01/21

Tampa Bay Downs - 17:42 - Agog NAP 11/10

Agog was unlucky not to win a much stronger event than this at Gulfstream on New Year’s Day therefore she should take all the beating dropped in grade.

She came from an un-promising position that day to challenge up the inside but with limited room Pace Lopez had to take her down a gear which resulted in her losing momentum at the finish.

With a clearer passage she should take all the beating under top jockey Samy Camacho.

Tampa Bay Downs 18:13 - Fan Fan 5/2

Race Day Speed takes a drop in grade and must be feared but Kathleen O’Connell’s Fan Fan shaped with plenty of promise on debut and gets the vote.

The 3-y-o filly surged through the field in eye-catching fashion to finish a never-nearer second and she is likely to benefit for the experience and this extra yardage.

She holds rival Grimhilde on that form and has a nice draw.

Gulfstream 20:09 - Sir Ollie 2/1

William Mott’s horses tend to improve for the run so Sir Ollie’s debut victory at this course can be marked up.

The nicely bred 3-y-o son of Quality Road got the better of a horse with experience that day and the manner in which he finished suggests he will relish today’s extra furlong.

There are a few class-droppers to fear but our selection looks one to keep on side.

Tampa Bay Downs 19:12 - Elusive Road 12/1 E/W

At 12/1 Elusive Road looks a nice each-way price.

The son of Quality Road finished well for third over the extended 6f here on debut and he now moves up to the mile distance.

The second that day has already given the form a nice boost and Jose Batista is riding well at a 36.6% S/R the past 14 days.

Opportunity for a new yard to get off the mark.
